Well the Ornacle had spoken and rarely is he proved wrong, which means along with Torreira, Arsenal now have another young midfielder to join their ranks and from what we hear the player is an incredibly gifted one and earmarked for the future with Torreira being in the coaches immediate plans as a part of his project and Matteo Guendouzi one for the coming years.
Its not the first time Arsenal have tried their hand at signing a young French midfielder with a deal for PSG youngster Yacine Adli being almost agreed only for him to make an absolute U turn at the very last moment and instead renew with PSG.

Now it seems arsenal have finally landed a young french midfielder and frankly he is quite talented for us to be rightfully excited about.. Last night french outlet Ouest-France were the first to break the news and now it has been confirmed by the player himself after landing in London.

Matteo Guendouzi started his youth career with PSG, moving to Lorient in 2014 and made 20 appearances across all competitions for his side last year as they finished 7th in Ligue 2.
Matteo Guendouzi made 21 appearances in total last season playing as a defensive midfielder and central midfielder and comes to us as a hugely promising player one that Sven Mislintat has indeed himself picked after intensive scouting.

Arsenal had been previously been monitoring the player since January and it wasn’t just us to have noticed the player. During the January window both Borussia Dortmund and Manchester City were reportedly interested in making a move for the player but that did not materialize and now he is one of ours.
Described by Get French Football as one to rely on his strength and presence rather than skill to dominate the middle of the park, Matteo Guendouzi positions himself as the man pulling the strings and setting of counter attacks rather than being the one to break up play. Despite having similarities and already drawing comparisons with Adrien Rabiot both are not completely same and yet made in the same mold.
Matteo Guendouzi is a 19 yr old midfielder who plays for Lorient. He plays for the French U20 team and his origin is from Morocco. Man City & Spurs were heavily linked with him in January transfer window. pic.twitter.com/GS5ri7KUvH

Lacking in the seamless dribbling brilliance that Rabiot possesses, Matteo Guendouzi is nevertheless brilliant with his distribution and passing into all channels on the field and quite artful at setting the tempo of the game.
Quite a lot to work on here for our new head coach Unai Emery but its nothing he hasn’t done before and working with genuinely talented youngsters and bringing out the best in them is what every good manager loves about their job unless you are Mourinho that is.
Looking forward to seeing him play for us this season.
