Mesut Ozil – Midfield Magician of Mannschaft’, whose good first touch and immediate ball control have yet to really sparkle this season.

Unai Emery’s squad have faced 5 matches and are placed 7th position on the league table.

Meanwhile, he Gunners traveled to St’ James’ Park on Saturday afternoon looking to claim a third successive Premier League win. The clash against Newcastle was Ozil’s 200th appearance for Arsenal in all competitions.

And as the game ended 0-2 in the favour of the visitors, the German topped his milestone off with a brilliant second half goal, managing to brilliantly capitalise on Alexandre Lacazette‘s reboud.

Speaking ahead of this weekend’s clash with Newcastle, Emery clarified his future in the relationship with Ozil stands. The Spaniard said [via Sky Sports]:

“[We get on] very well. Here for me, it isn’t for a lot of time speaking about what people are telling us.

“I have a very good relationship with Mesut and professionally I push him for improvements to give us the best in his qualities and performances.

“We are continuing our process with our positive things and our work.”

The former Real Madrid star’s retirement from German National team has given him space to focus on Arsenal. To this Emery commented:

“The reason for Mesut is important for me also, this focus every day with us and I look at him with the focus totally here.

This will be the crucial opportunity for the playmaker to shut out the critics as the deadlock is yet to be broken. Adding to this we are seeing a strong attack created by the gaffer this term and a balance in defense with the latest news from Nacho Monreal extending his contract.

Moreover, now that the boss has put the speculations to rest, the media can no longer shift their narrative to antagonise Mesut.
