Arsenal vs Manchester City clash will be the first fixture of the new Premier League season for both clubs. City, on a jubilant spree, are at home after adding another trophy to their name, The Community Shield. As they have ended on a high note, they will arrive at the Emirates on the 12th of August, with their heads held high.
It must be a great game to see how new manager Unai Emery copes with this situation at hand. Their last fixture was the Carabao Cup Final which saw Manchester City lift the trophy by 3-0, with Aguero, Kompany and Silva adding to Arsenal’s woes.
Let’s take a look at the predicted line-ups for the exciting game this weekend;
Arsenal : Cech, Niles, Mustafi, Holding, Bellerin, Torreira, Ozil, Guendouzi, Ramsey, Lacazette, Aubameyang.
Manchester City : Bravo, Walker, Otamendi, Kompany, Laporte, Fernandinho, Sane, De Bruyne, D.Silva, Mahrez, Aguero.
Head-on-head battle – Aubameyang vs Aguero
Aubameyang’s goal-scoring days are believed to be back, ever since the attacking duo of Arsenal (along with Lacazette) were jointly responsible for 8 goals during the pre-season.
Gunners legend Paul Merson predicts Aubameyang’s success on winning the Golden Boot this coming season. He said:
“Romelu Lukaku will play every game and probably stay on every minute, Harry Kane will be in the mix and Sergio Aguero is one of those players who’ll get you four in a game – and scores penalties,” when asked about the players who are in the race for this year’s Golden Boot award.
But I’m going to go with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. He went under the radar a bit last season because Arsenal were out of the race, but if you look at his record, it wasn’t too shabby.
He hit the ground running, and if he can keep that going next season he’ll have a chance.
They’re not in the Champions League so he should feature every week and Arsenal will play on the counter and have pace on the break.
They won’t be as open as they were under Arsene Wenger, but they’ll still make chances.”

Aguero is a prolific goal scorer who takes any game, on his good days, away from the team’s adversaries. He scored 2 goals to his name, on the eve of the final of The Community Shield Cup against Chelsea. he has the potential to carry on his form over the coming few weeks and could pose a dangerous threat to Arsenal’s defense.
Here are the stats of Aguero and Aubameyang based on their last season gameplay.

Top notch Arsenal under Unai could play a lone striker on Sunday, rather than two of them which suggests that the spot would be competed by Lacazette or Aubameyang.
