Arsenal are still very much interested in Serie A star Gianluca Mancini who they scouted in November. According to Sports Witness Arsenal faces a battle with Dortmund, Inter Milan and Roma for securing the player’s signature.
Arsenal’s interest in signing the player dates back to the month of November when reports suggested that the Gunners had sent scouts to Italy to watch the player. The Arsenal scouts were impressed by Gianluca Mancini s performance in Atlanta’s thumping victory over Inter Milan which also saw him score a goal.
What makes the Atlanta defender an enticing prospect is his ability to score goals. His five goals and one assist this season holds a testimony to that fact. Moreover Mancini’s aerial prowess makes him a very useful asset during set pieces and his brief glimpse from the game against Inter should serve as a testimony to that.

Italian daily Gazzetta dello sport claims that the Serie A outfit will allow their star player to leave only if they receive an offer in the region of 20 mil pounds. They had signed the player for a meager amount of 300, 000 Euros and will hope to cash in on his growing popularity.
However the Gunners are not the only party interested in obtaining the Italian International’s services. A story that appeared in Corriere dello Sport mentions that Mancini was scouted by Roma as a possible replacement for the Greek defender Kostas Manolas in case he leaves the club before this season.
Similarly, the report also mentioned that Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan would jump at the possibility of signing him. This would ultimately pave the way for an all out battle between the clubs to secure their prized target. Although it has to be said that the transfer would only happen if the defender feels it is the right time for him to try a new challenge abroad at a bigger club. Gianluca Mancini currently has a contract till 2023 which might give Atlanta the benefit of having a say in any transfer negotiations for their star man and make Arsenal shell out the big bucks for him.
