REVEALED [ via Duncan Castles] : David De Gea Reportedly Turns Down United Contract Offer Due To Sanchez And Pogba

De Gea, Arsedevils

It has been reported that David De Gea has turned down the contract extension offered by Manchester United, as he demands a higher wage, similar to what the top players of the club like Alexis Sanchez and Paul Pogba are earning.

Jose Mourinho had previously said that De Gea will sign a new deal at United, and he was pretty confident that the goalie was going nowhere.

“His [De Gea’s] valuation is zero because he is a Manchester United player who, as soon as possible, will sign a new contract,” Mourinho said.

“He likes it here, we love him, we want him to stay, he wants to stay, so when a player is not in the market the value is zero.

“A goalkeeper is a player and sometimes people forget that. A goalkeeper wins points and wins titles, so he is as important as another player.”

But now David De Gea rejecting the offer has certainly put the fans to worry, and raise questions about De Gea’s future at United. United fans right now really can’t seem to catch a break, with two successive and equally if not more humiliating defeats in the League, United are now faced with the possibility of losing their best player by far unless a deal can be reached.

The 27-year-old Spaniard has around a year remaining till his contract expires and yet United have not come to an agreement regards to a new contract with him. Even though United have the option of extending the deal to the year 2020, there seems to be no reason why De Gea doesn’t deserve a raise in his wages and an equally cushy and comparable wages with the other top earners at the club.

De Gea has been the heart of United’s defence and is the reason why Manchester United were able to attain a clean sheet record in the previous season. Not only is De Gea the most valuable player United has but also a world-class goalkeeper and probably the Worlds best right now.

He has won tons of awards for Player of the year for United, the fans love him and arguably, he can also be credited as the best in the world and the most important and valuable player in this United team. He is quick, agile and does his best to keep the ball from going past him. All these traits, remarks and achievements clearly show how crucial he is to United. No other player does a better job than De Gea at present and he is the most consistent player that United have.

2018 has been a great for goalkeepers so far. Their value has evaluated a lot after making a few record signings by the big clubs. Thibaut Courtois moved to Real Madrid for £35 million, Alisson Becker joined Liverpool for £65 million and Chelsea broke the world record by signing Kepa Arrizabalaga for £71.6 million. Now, when we look at these numbers, giving De Gea a raise seems quite fair and United really should not hesitate much in making a much dignified and better offer which would ideally please the player and his agents at work.

Everyone knows that United has had a tough time so far. Their performance in the league is underwhelming, the fans are losing faith in the team, everything is going haywire. So it would be a sensible decision to offer the essential players like De Gea and Ander Herrera an extension.

If Anybody Deserves A New Contract Its Ander Herrera And Here Is Exactly Why

United cannot afford to lose a player like De Gea in times like these. Despite the fact that a club like Real Madrid, who have been persuading De Gea for a long time, have settled for another goalie, sealing an extension just ensures that the player is certainly out of bounds.

Moreover, this is not just the case for David De Gea. According to Manchester Evening News, Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young, Ander Herrera, Chris Smalling, Juan Mata, Phil Jones, Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmain, Andreas Pereira and Anthony Martial, are still waiting to sign a long-term deal for United.

This season has been a turmoil so far, they have to make amends and rectify their errors else things are just going to get worse. Everyone knows that David De Gea is needed, and it would be unwise if United are to turn down his counter-offer.
