25 year old midfielder Elneny, joined Arsenal from Swiss side Basel in a £5 million move during the Winter transfer window of 2015-2016 and has made 65 appearances for the north London club. [spacer height=”30px”]

The length of the new deal penned by the Egypt international is undisclosed, and has been described as “long term” by Arsenal in their official announcement. [spacer height=”30px”]

And following today’s announcement the 25-year-old took to social media to reveal ambitions behind extending his contract with the club. [spacer height=”30px”]

Vowing to lift the Gunners to their ‘deserved place’ after signing a new deal with the club, Elneny posted on twitter his reason behind extending his journey with Arsenal. [spacer height=”30px”]

Speaking at the start of the season, Arsene Wenger was appreciative of his qualities and how he felt the best was yet to come from the Egyptian : [spacer height=”30px”]

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””] “He is a fantastic team player and he is a credit to your country if you are Egyptian. He is a fantastic boy, we love him here.[spacer height=”20px”] “It took him some time to adapt to the intensity of the games and I think he was not aggressive enough for the Premier League [initially]. But now he has added that to his game. [spacer height=”20px”] “People forget that Elneny is 25 years old. He is not 30 – he’s still a young player and his best years are in front of him.” [/perfectpullquote]

The midfielder had previously been at El Mokawloon in the Egyptian Premier League.

He has scored two goals for the club, the first one in an extraordinary strike in his first campaign in a 3-1 loss at Barcelona, and another one this season in December’s 6-0 win over Bate Borisov in the Europa League.

Appearing in the 3-0 home win over watford, Elneny had put in an astutely brilliant performance at heart of the midfield in helping his team avenge their 2-1 loss at Vicarage road earlier in the season.

Elneny who is often accused of continuously passing back to the centre backs or sideways, helped create attacks and generate the teams rhythm with brilliant balls into the path of the likes of Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in order to produce the final ball and constantly kept the team ticking in in the opposition half of the pitch. His passing was a joy to watch and he even exceptionally useful in defense probably due to his experience in playing as a centre back in a three man defense. [spacer height=”30px”]

Representing his country during the International break, Mo Elneny was on the losing side of his teams 2-1 defeat in extra time to Portugal. [spacer height=”30px”]

The player is all set to be part of Egypt’s 2018 World Cup squad, and had previously played a big part in getting the Pharaohs to Russia.[spacer height=”30px”]
