Russia :[spacer height=”30px”]

Key Players to Watch out For :[spacer height=”30px”]

Igor Akinfeev GK 32 :[spacer height=”30px”]

Russia Squad of 2018 may not have too many world class players to boast off who can change the course of a match single handedly, that does not mean they deserve to be underestimated at any level.[spacer height=”30px”]

Having most players who ply their trade here at home makes them ideally suited to understand the conditions and play accordingly. One of their most popular players and captain fantastic is their goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev who plays right here at home for CSKA moscow. [spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”20px”]

One of the steadiest hands in the game, Igor has consistently for the last decade or so has displayed tremendous stability between the sticks and for his side to display some needed consistency during the tournament, Igor and his unshakable self confidence will play a huge rule in deciding the fortunes of his team and for starters deciding the outcome of the Russia vs Saudi Arabia. [spacer height=”30px”]

Savic, Pavon and the other Wonder Kids who could Prove to be hugely influential in the World Cup for their country

[spacer height=”30px”]Alexander Golovin Attacking Midfielder 22[spacer height=”30px”]

Arsenal fans know him pretty well, he is the guy who was certain to come in during the January World cup only to push it further because he wasn’t supposedly ready to feature for our club and went on to score an absolute stunner verses Arsenal in the Europa League almost sparking an comeback to knock us out of the competition.[spacer height=”30px”]

Well that did not happen and Alexander Golovin still plays for CSKA Moscow however ahead of the world cup, somehow has managed to become one of the players to watch out for during the world cup.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]Despite only being 22 years of age, Alexander Golovin will serve to the most important creative on presence on the field for Russia vs Saudi Arabia. His ability to occasionally strike sublime goals from log range will be crucial for Russia vs Saudi Arabia with Saudi Arabia having concise and rigorous defensive structure as a basis of their team style under former Italy coach Juan Antonio Pizzi. [spacer height=”30px”]

Ahead of the Russia vs Saudi Arabia game, here is what Russian winger Aleksandr Samedov had to say about his teams objectives to Fifa.com :[spacer height=”30px”]

“No matter what, we have to get out of the group… We have worked hard and are well prepared.”[spacer height=”20px”]

We’re not sitting around worrying what will happen if it doesn’t work out for us.”

[spacer height=”30px”]

The Russians have been in dreadful form going into the World cup with problems with their federation, some players complaining about the coach and his rash abrasive tactics not going down well with some of the players.[spacer height=”30px”]

Russia’s Last taste of International Victory came way back in October 2017 in against South Korea when they beat them 4-2 at home. However since then to this present day they have been winless and will try to reverse some of their luck so far by kicking off their campaign by winning in Russia vs Saudi Arabia.[spacer height=”30px”]

Stanislav Cherchesov their present coach has a horrible win % of 26.3% so far and will surely try to make amends where it matters most. The one incredibly positive thing for the host nation going into the opening fixture is that their opponents Saudi Arabia have also been in terrible form of late.[spacer height=”30px”]

Here is their Predicted Line up :[spacer height=”30px”]

Russia Probable Starting XI

[spacer height=”30px”]Saudi Arabia[spacer height=”30px”]

Saudi Arabia for their part have also had a wretched last few months coming into the world after having sacked two coaches already and new coach Juan Antonio Pizzi being in charge for barely 7 months. Both the teams in Russia vs Saudi Arabia will also be hoping for victory at the Luzhniki to end a barren run at the global finals: Russia have not won at the World Cup since 2002, while Saudi Arabia’s last global finals’ victory came at USA 1994.[spacer height=”30px”]

Late last year, Saudi managed just one win, over Kuwait (2-1), in the Gulf Cup, where they also lost to eventual winners Oman (2-0) and drew with United Arab Emirates (0-0).[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]Saudi Arabia however played their last friendly match against Germany narrowly losing to them 2-1 and giving them a real good scare.[spacer height=”30px”]

Key Players to Watch out for :[spacer height=”30px”]

FAHAD AL MUWALLAD  Striker/Winger 23[spacer height=”30px”]

At just 23 years of age Al Muwallad has quickly grown on to become one of the most important players in the team and playing up front for the last few games with Al Sahlawi’s dip in form. Playing with blistering pace and on the counter attack, Al Mullawad has quickly found himself to be perfectly established in his teams playing with his team playing to his strength.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]

Ahead of Russia vs Saudi Arabia, the nation of Saudi Arabia will be banking on the pace and quick decision making of Fahad Al Mullawad to bring out the best in this team. Standing just 5ft 5ins tall, he’s a tricky winger, blessed with blistering pace and ridiculously quick feet. He also has an eye for goal and will serve to be a primary point of focus for all his side’s attacking threat for the opening match in Russia vs Saudi Arabia.[spacer height=”30px”]
