Manchester United is set to face Derby County in the FA Cup 3rd round as Gary Rowett’s men visit Old Trafford on Friday night.

Jose Mourinho delivered some team news in a interview on Thursday providing updates on the fitness of Manchester United stars.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was without his eight first team players against Everton at Goodison Park.

Ahead of the FA Cup clash, United boss confirmed the return of Romelu Lukaku to fitness and ready to face Derby on Friday.

The Belgian International was taken off in the first half during United’s Premier League fixture against Southampton last Saturday.

Our top scorer received a heavy blow on the head forcing him to subsequently miss the win against his former club Everton on New Year.

According to Manchester Evening News, Marouane Fellaini could return for United’s FA Cup tie to Derby County.

Marouane Fellaini has not played since November 25 due to a recurring knee problem he suffered during a Belgium match in October.

The Belgian’s contract with the Red Devils is about to end in 2018 and has entered the last six months of his contract.

Fellaini rejected United’s offer for a new contract in September and speculation grows on his future at Old Trafford.

United manager Jose Mourinho also provided positive news on the injuries of Micheal Carrick and Antonio Valencia.

Both the players are nearing their respective comebacks but won’t be available for selection against Championship high-flyers Derby.

“And Michael Carrick is back to training, not to competition, but is back to training with the team. Antonio Valencia will be back to the team next week, so he is not playing tomorrow but will be back to the team next week. The situation is improving for us.”

Micheal Carrick underwent a heart procedure this season and has not played since September. Carrick is back to training but is not available for selection for the first team soon enough.

Meanwhile, Antonio Valencia will miss the FA Cup tie against Derby County but may return against Stoke City on January 15.

Jose Mourinho confirmed that Sergio Romero will replace David De Gea as the goalkeeper against Derby on Friday.
