Paul Pogba

Manchester United Team News: Paul Pogba injury Update

According to sources in England, Jose Mourinho gave update on Paul Pogba’s injury after Manchester United beat Tottenham Hotspurs 1-0 on home turf. Anthony Martial grabbed a late winner for Manchester United against Tottenham in wet conditions coming on as a second half substitute for Marcus Rashford. Paul Pogba started the season in scintillating form winning the Manchester United Player Of The Month for August. But Paul Pogba was withdrawn from the pitch during Manchester United’s match against FC Basel in the Champions League last month. The French midfielder limped off the pitch after suffering a hamstring injury with 19 minutes into the match during United’s 3-0 win over FC Basel. Since then, Paul Pogba has been posting pics and videos on instagram on his recovery. Paul Pogba has been sidelined for nearly six weeks now and Jose Mourinho still has no idea when the French midfielder will make his comeback. Jose Mourinho described Pogba’s injury as a long-term in a press conference last month although media posts suggested he is making good progress. After Manchester United’s 1-0 win over Tottenham, Jose Mourinho again stated uncertainty on Paul Pogba’s comeback to the field.

When asked about a return date for Paul Pogba, the Portuguese boss told the press:

“Again, I have no idea, honestly, I have no idea,” “I have no idea, I’m not in control of his recovery process, he’s not training with me, he’s on individual work and not in my group.” “Even under certain conditions, for example Marcos Rojo is working with me, with certain conditions, but he’s working with me” “But Paul, I have no idea.”

This injury update from Jose Mourinho remains a concern for Manchester United with the Devils faltering in recent Premier League matches until a recent comeback against Tottenham. The reason for these comments on Paul Pogba are due to his individual training and recovery. The French midfielder has been undergoing rehabilitation in the United States individually and not at the training base of Manchester United. Though Marcos Rojo has been training with the rest of the squad and his improvements are being recorded properly by United officials, Pogba is on his own. No informations is available to the United officials on his recovery. However, rumours are around that Paul Pogba can make a comeback to first team football soon and these happens to soothe the hearts of Manchester United fans. Moreover, Pogba is needed more than ever as United has slipped few times in the recent games and looked far away from the marvelous form that United showed since the start of the 2017/18 season. A draw at Liverpool and a loss at Huddersfield though slowed down the momentum of the Red Devils but United returned to winning ways against Tottenham at Old Trafford. It remains to be seen when the French midfielder makes his comeback. Being a die-hard Manchester United supporter, I surely look forward to see the dynamic playmaker on the field soon enough.
