4-3-3 Sanchez Lukaku and Pogba to Start: Manchester United vs Arsenal Probable Lineup

Manchester United vs Arsenal, Arsenal, Manchester United, Wenger vs Mourinho

Manchester United are set to take on Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday. With major changes in both team’s squad, formation and swapping of Sanchez and Mikhitariyan either way, both teams have come a long way since their last meet at Emirates stadium.[spacer height=”30px”]

Both teams are back to play in PL from playing for only silverware they can win this season viz. United in FA Cup semi-final and Arsenal in Europa League semi-final.[spacer height=”30px”]

The last match between the two teams was memorable one, especially for United fans as they saw their side win  1-3. Although, the margin looked comfortable, it was anything but comfort for United who only had 25% of possession and needed record equalling 14 saves from De Gea to help them win. Heading into this match, United would be looking for a dominating performance.[spacer height=”30px”]

The thing which peaks the interest of Sunday’s clash is the fact that it would be last time Wenger will face his old foe Mourinho and rivals United as an Arsenal manager.[spacer height=”30px”]

Here is the line up : 4-3-3[spacer height=”30px”]

Goal Keeper : David De Gea[spacer height=”30px”]

De Gea would no doubt retain his place in the line up. Personally, he is leading clean sheet chart in PL and would want to continue the same.[spacer height=”30px”]

Defenders: Darmian, Jones, Smalling and Young.[spacer height=”30px”]

Darmian would come in for Valencia, as the latter left FA Cup semi-final to due to muscle strain. Jones and Smalling would be the central duo given their recent form to contain opposition. Young would retain his place as left back.[spacer height=”30px”]

United Vs Spurs: Why Manchester United won against Spurs in the FA Cup semi final

Midfielders: Herrera, Matic and Pogba[spacer height=”30px”]

Herrera was match winner for United against Tottenham not only because of his winner but also because of his work rate.[spacer height=”30px”]

Pogba and Matic pick themselves because of their ability to control the game, attacking and defensively respectively from midfield. Matic and Herrera would be vital to stop Ozil, Lacazzate and Auba.[spacer height=”30px”]

Forwards: Lingard, Sanchez and Lukaku.[spacer height=”30px”]

Sanchez is back against his old club for first time and would like to repeat his performance of FA Cup semis. Lingard who scored 2 goals in last match between the teams would be crucial in this game too. Lukaku, United’s sole striker would lead the line and would be expected to be physical in the match.[spacer height=”30px”]
