Mourinho lines up Bale alternative- World Cup star to Old Trafford?

Manchester United had been scouting on a couple of wingers during the summer transfer window and one of them included Mexican Hirving Lozano. A lot of rumors and speculations had arisen, players like Gareth Bale and Willian were top targets during this time. Yet the transfer season came to an end with no new wingers.

Now, the Reds are reportedly eyeing for the Mexican prodigy, Hirving Lozano. The 23-year-old winger had been phenomenal during the World Cup in Russia. Lozano helped Mexico win their opening match against Germany by scoring the winning goal, and he has been under the spotlight ever since. Besides scoring in his World Cup debut, his first season for PSV was quite impressive.

In his previous season, Lozano played only 4 matches and was able to score 2 goals and get 2 assists in the league. He is now one of the key players of PSV and has featured in every game they have played in this season. Moreover, he has scored in every debut he has played so far. Big Clubs like Barcelona, Inter Milan, Athletico Madrid, and Borussia Dortmund have also been keen on signing this young chap ].

Manchester United are going to have a tough time if they are looking to bring Lozano in their squad. There’s no doubt that Lozano would be a great addition to the team, he has a considerable amount of pace and has traits similar to Sanchez. With Alexis Sanchez set to turn 30 this year, acquiring Lozano could prove beneficial to United as he could be a worthy replacement.

So far, United has not officially released a statement or held talks with the winger. There are merely any major updates regarding Lozano. Moreover, the Mexican winger seems quite happy in Eindhoven.

Lozano’s arrival to United seems improbable. I think that he is more likely to stay in PSV for this season. Transferring him to a more prestigious club would reduce his time on the pitch by a great deal, while in PSV he could still start for every fixture that follows. Lozano shows a lot of promise, and if United are really interested in bringing him to Old Trafford, they should wait for 1-2 seasons so that they know how consistent he is during the long run.

United must concentrate on their current forwards like Rashford and Martial, although the former is not on good terms with Jose Mourinho. So far, Mourinho is doing a great job by experimenting with the squad and trying to get everyone on the pitch. Although Lozano might be just a mere transfer target for the winter, he is quite an exciting prospect and would serve as a great option for a forward.
