Manchester United is among the elite clubs of Europe with a huge global fan base. With the start of every new season, expectations of the supporters goes up for league performances as well as for new signings. However, in recent years, United players have struggled to deliver because of injury issues and this has made a huge impact on the Premier League standings. Manchester United have failed to keep their new signings fit in the last two seasons, thus forcing the manager to keep on changing the team, restricting him from forming the best eleven.[spacer height=”30px”]

This season, the Red Devils have made three new signings, most notably Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk. Some of the previous signings, who failed to make impact last season because of injuries and pressure now seem fit to start afresh. We take a look at three of these previous signings who can have a significant impact on forthcoming season.[spacer height=”30px”]

1. Alexis Sanchez(January 2018, Arsenal)[spacer height=”30px”]

Alexis Sanchez has been playing in the Premier League for 4 seasons now and have given quite a few nightmares to  defenders. The Chilean has been consistent and his determination is the main reason why he left Arsenal to join us in a swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Sanchez might have had a mediocre season at Old Trafford with respect to his standards as he was settling in with his new team and was trying to understand the philosophy of the team. But with the new season just around the corner, he may be looking to hit his top form. [spacer height=”30px”]

Although, Alexis Sanchez might just have scored 2 goals and assisted 3 in the 12 games he played for Manchester United, but there was certainly no question of his desire to win. Hence, he will be raring to go and as seen in his first match of our pre-season tour, he is already looking sharp and desperate to perform.[spacer height=”30px”]

2. Eric Bailly(June 2016, Villarreal)[spacer height=”30px”]

Eric Bailly was the first transfer signing done by Jose Mourinho during his tenure as the Manchester United boss. When the defender was signed from Spanish club Villarreal in June 2016, he was totally an unknown property but surely was one for the future. Bailly is fast, aggressive, agile and has a great tendency of intercepting incoming balls by reading the game. The Ivorian has got all the attributes that a world-class defender should possess but his only problem is being very injury prone. [spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]But, this season he will be looking to keep aside his injury issues. Jose Mourinho must be hoping that Bailly stays fit during the whole season as he would expect him to be the mainstay in defense for Manchester United. [spacer height=”30px”]

 3. Andreas Pereira(January 2012, PSV)[spacer height=”30px”]

Jose Mourinho has stated that every team needs a player from Brazil in the previous season itself. He was pretty much disappointed that instead of fighting for his place, Andreas Pereira went on loan to Valencia. Manchester United fans will surely be hoping that Andreas Pereira finally starts to live up to his true potential. The Brazilian had a good 2017-18 season with Valencia where he was happy.[spacer height=”30px”]

“I spoke with him [Mourinho] about that and now this season I want to stay and do my best for the club.” [spacer height=”20px”]

“I feel a better player now than last year” [spacer height=”20px”]

– Andreas Pereira [/perfectpullquote][spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]Andreas Pereira is determined of claiming a starting spot this season. He displayed great composure at the number 6 position during the two pre-season friendly matches. He has been one of the few young and bright sparks in our team and will be hoping to carry that on for the upcoming season.[spacer height=”30px”]

All these three past signings are expected to have big impact this season as Manchester United are getting ready for their first match of the 2018-19 season against Leicester City on 11th August.[spacer height=”30px”]
