Moments ago Arsenal have revealed via their official website that Swiss ace Granit Xhaka has signed a new long term contract with the Club. [spacer height=”30px”]
The 25-year-old midfielder featured in all 38 Premier League matches last season, starting 37 and making one substitute appearance making himself one of our most ever present players on a pitch last season. [spacer height=”30px”]
Having joined the club back in the summer of 2016, Granit Xhaka has gone on to make 94 appearances already for the club and was a part of the Emirates winning squad in his first season at the club. [spacer height=”30px”]
One of the most called upon players by Arsene Wenger, a new long term contract more or less signals the same level of reliability from our new manager and makes it very exciting to imaging our Swiss midfielder linking up with the potential new incoming midfielder from Uruguay Lucas Torreira. Basically from what the impression suggests, contract extensions are also not the prerogative of our new ‘Head Coach’ and rather everything is being handled by the IRS as I like to call them. Sure Unai must have voiced his opinions and his thoughts on the matter but the final decisions seems completely in their hands. [spacer height=”30px”]
Nevertheless Its sure that Unai also sees Xhaka as an important member of the squad for his new look Arsenal team and intends to utilize him at the heart of the midfield. [spacer height=”30px”]
Xhaka has a voice and a character on the field which not many people have, which is why the presence of people like him in the team and the dressing room is very essential. He is a born leader and somebody who gives it all. He is not someone who ignores what is happening around him and makes his presence felt with his voice and actions both on and off the field. Xhaka is still young and only 25 so its not easy being a leader with other senior players around but Granit Xhaka has shown his natural tendencies and hopefully by staying with us in the future this lad will grad into a proper top notch Leader which this team has sorely needed.
