Midfield Selection Dilemma For Unai Emery As We Take A Look At These Three Key Midfielders Who Will Form Arsenal’s Midfield

Arsenal,Arsedevils

[spacer height=”20px”]Unai Emery’s tactics have impressed all Arsenal fans around world ever since youngsters like Emil Smith Rowe, Matteo Guendouzi and Reiss Nelson have shown immense skill and determination to dominate the world stage at the ICC pre-season friendlies played amongst the top-tier clubs of Europe.

When he was the manager of PSG, he managed to lure Neymar and Dani Alves away from the Catalans while Mbappe developed his dexterity and relied on his physique and pace to leave defenders in awe and hopefully this is the case for Arsenal too; With signings like Torreira, Guendouzi and Lichtsteiner, he is bound to create a quake in English football.

Pulling the strings like puppets in a show, Emery is yet to decide on a reliable squad as Arsenal’s midfield has displayed a lot of potential yet he can accommodate maximum four midfielders in his playing XI, before the onset of the Premier League on the 10th of August.

Here are three midfielders who should start the season for Arsenal based on their current form in the ICC and the World Cup :

Lucas Torreira

[spacer height=”20px”]

A highly pursued defensive midfielder from Uruguay, showing brilliance and constant focus to the ball movement as he did against Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo, leaving him in the dust with a few tackles to gain back possession. He could hold the key to unlock the forms of Lacazette and Aubameyang for Arsenal who earlier were bosses in their own leagues, Ligue 1 and Bundesliga respectively.

Standing at a mere height of 1.68 metres, his weakness of winning aerial duels could pose an internal threat to the team, although his passing ability to pick out the flanks from long range or short range could lay waste to the other team’s spirit and confidence.

Although he hasn’t been seen playing during the ICC, we are sure to expect him back to his fittest before the most competitive league in the world begins.

Matteo Guendouzi

A young 19-year-old Frenchman has shown a lot of promise during the ICC games in Singapore. Arsenal fans have already started setting this lad’s bar above most defenders in the Premier League. Guendouzi has shown he is a resistant “wall” that can bear situations of rain and snow too. Playing a major role in both the games, he can adapt to situations of crises and also provide as a backup attack during such moments by pushing higher.

[spacer height=”30px”]Although the two pre-season games were played against the young teams of PSG and Atletico, he still hasn’t faced a real pressing burden over his shoulders yet.

Aaron Ramsey

According to theshortfuse, his defensive stats might not appeal to a fan as he usually rises up to situations when Arsenal need an experienced player in order to control the fluidity of passing and thunder strikes from far range shots. He had the ability to be at the right place at the right time, to finish 7 goals and thread 8 assists to his teammates.

[spacer height=”30px”]

As his contract expires this year, it is time for him to decide his own fate by either signing a 5 year deal with Arsenal or leave Arsenal as Sanchez did.

All to say,Arsenal has done considerably well in this transfer market and has signed some great midfielders in the form of Lucas Torriera and Matteo Geundouzi. With less than two weeks to go for the Premier League to Kick Off,Arsenal has made a statement in the transfer market by bolstering the midfield and they will surely look to make another one in the upcoming season.
