Manchester United Predicted Line-Up Vs Chelsea

Chelsea, Arsedevils

Manchester United return to Premier League action on Sunday after their Champions League draw against Sevilla in the Champions League. The Red Devils are due to face Chelsea on home turf.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Manchester United currently stand third in the Premier League one point behind of second-placed Liverpool on 56 points.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Jose Mourinho’s men turned in a very less than overwhelming performance at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium and all eyes will be on United’s attacking forces going into the big Sunday clash.

[spacer height=”30px”]

The Red Devils have been lacking goals even after the arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal and Lukaku has failed to deliver against top teams in the Premier League.

Here is the Manchester United predicted line-up vs Chelsea

[spacer height=”30px”]

Jose Mourinho will be without six of his important players missing due to injuries: Jones, Rojo, Blind, Fellaini, Ibrahimovic and recently injured Herrera.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Ibrahimovic has returned to training but it is uncertain that he is ready to make a comeback. Getting goals is still the problem for the Reds.

Formation: 3-5-2

[spacer height=”30px”]

The boss will look to neutralize the threat of Eden Hazard on the goal by overloading the midfield with two wing-backs moving to and fro on the wings. It will narrow down the attacking options for Chelsea.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Moreover, Mourinho has adapted to the three man defenses after arriving at Old Trafford and this could be the way to go if the boss thinks so. This will also give Sanchez and Lukaku to pair up for the first time in the forward line.

Manchester United Predicted Line-up

[spacer height=”30px”]

Goalkeeper: David de Gea

[spacer height=”30px”]

Currently, no other goalkeeper can take his place in United’s dressing room and after his performance against Sevilla FC, even Jose Mourinho will think, not twice but thrice to replace him. No keeper stands even close to De Gea.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Defence: Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly, Victor Lindelof

[spacer height=”30px”]

Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof have firmly secured their place in the heart of defence for Manchester United in  absence of Phil Jones, Eric Bailly and Marcus Rojo.

[spacer height=”30px”]

It may be possible for Eric Bailly to make his return to the first team and could make his first start for the Red Devils since our last game against Chelsea. The defence trio should be good to start if the boss decides to opt for three man defence against Conte’s men.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Midfield: Ashley Young, Nemanja Matic, Antonio Valencia, Paul Pogba, Juan Mata

[spacer height=”30px”]

Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia will be the left and right wing-backs respectively against our rival Chelsea at Old Trafford. Although Valencia is sure to start on the right wing looking on his performances throughout the season, Young stands as a better choice for a wing-back ahead of Luke Shaw.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Nemanja Matic will play as the defensive midfielder in this predicted line-up. Matic is fit and is in good shape to play against Chelsea and is also favoured by the our boss.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Paul Pogba starts in midfield in this predicted line-up after the discourse in the previous weeks and lines to be in the first team after Herrera getting injured this week. Juan Mata gets the backing to start in the first team ahead of Lingard in my opinion. The Spaniard has been good on the ball in the last few weeks and has gained the confidence of Jose Mourinho this season.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Attack: Alexis Sanchez, Romelu Lukaku

[spacer height=”30px”]

Sanchez and Lukaku will pair up for the first time with the probability of getting more chances on goal. Jose Mourinho will be relieved to see Lukaku back on score sheet last week against Huddersfield Town and will rely on him to deliver again along with Sanchez.

[spacer height=”30px”]

All eyes will be Jose Mourinho and his men to take revenge on Chelsea on account of the last encounter against Conte’s men.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Let’s hope to see the Reds regain the second place after Liverpool won against West Ham on Saturday.
