Swansea, Arsedevils, Manchester United

Manchester United defeated Swansea City 2-0 at home as they tightened their grip on second place on the league table.

Following Liverpool giant strides in the League this season it was a special victory as they put 2(two) goals past the Swansea goal just before the intermission.

[spacer height=”30px”]

This was the perfect Easter gift for the fans as they kept the positive euphoria needed ahead of the remaining games of the season.

With United 2 -0 victory over Swansea, we evaluate the player ratings of the men in the Red Shirt.

Goalkeeper

[spacer height=”20px”]

David de Gea: 7.0

The Spaniard had an excellent game in between the sticks as he stood strong to make some crucial save in the match.

[spacer height=”20px”]

He showed good reflexes to deny Tammy (substitute) Abraham in the second half thus keeping another clean sheet in the process.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Defenders

[spacer height=”20px”]

Antonio Valencia: 6.5

[spacer height=”20px”]

A solid performance from the United Veteran as he kept his marker at bay for most of the contest. He was great going forward as the Ecuadorian offered his side the width on the right wings.

[spacer height=”20px”]

Chris Smalling: 6.5

[spacer height=”20px”]

He defended pretty well as United kept a clean sheet in the game. The skipper showed defensive organization as he thwarted the Swansea plans in the danger area.

Victor Lindelof: 6.5

[spacer height=”20px”]

The center back made a couple of (timely) interceptions to deny the Swansea players in transition down the area.

[spacer height=”20px”]

He formed a superb combo at the back with Chris Smalling and was up to the Swansea challenges throughout the game.

[spacer height=”20px”]

Ashley Young: 6.0

[spacer height=”20px”]

Another solid performance from the former Aston Villa man as he dispatched his duties on the left back position. He bombed forward on occasion to give United some attacking impetus down the left wing.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Midfielders

[spacer height=”20px”]

Nemanja Matic: 6.5

[spacer height=”20px”]

The Serbian had a quiet game as he made things simple in midfield. He was strong in possession (great area awareness) and protected the back four (United’s) in aplomb.

[spacer height=”20px”]

Paul Pogba: 7.0

[spacer height=”20px”]

The French man as always was sensational in the middle.

[spacer height=”20px”]

He showed great movement on the ball and linked up with his United’s teammates in transition pretty well.

[spacer height=”20px”]

He made a couple of dribbling runs as he was too good for Swansea.

Juan Mata: 6.5

[spacer height=”20px”]

The Spaniard justified his inclusion with incisive passes and play-making display in the match.

He showed flair and dynamism alongside Paul (Pogba) as United sealed the win.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Attackers

[spacer height=”20px”]

Alexis Sanchez: 6.5

[spacer height=”20px”]

The Chilean was on hand to finish a free-flowing United move as he tucked the ball away into the left bottom corner.

[spacer height=”20px”]

He was lively in the match and combined well with center forward (an assist) Lukaku for the first goal.

[spacer height=”20px”]

Romelu Lukaku: 6.5

[spacer height=”20px”]

The big forward showed good movement outside the box. He took his goal expertly as he was set-up by Chile Star Alexis Sanchez.

[spacer height=”20px”]

Jesse Lingard: 6.5

[spacer height=”20px”]

The young lad was exceptional going forward as he linked up the forward line with aplomb. He set up Alexis Sanchez for United’s 2nd goal and was a constant threat down the Swansea area.

[spacer height=”30px”]

Substitutes

[spacer height=”20px”]

Ander Herrera: 5.0

[spacer height=”20px”]

The Spaniard was decent in midfield as he replaced Juan Mata after the intermission. He made a couple of decent passes as United kept possession in the latter stages of the game.

[spacer height=”20px”]

Marcus Rashford: 5.0

[spacer height=”20px”]

The English talent replaced Alexis Sanchez and could have added a goal of his own. He showed great footwork on the left wings as he skipped past two Swansea defenders.

[spacer height=”20px”]

Scott Mc Tominay: N/A

[spacer height=”20px”]

He made a late cameo appearance (in added time) as United sealed a comfortable 2-0 win over Swansea City at home.
