United Receive Huge Injury Boost Ahead Of The Game Vs Spurs With As Many As Five Players Back

Manchester United are going to play against Tottenham Hotspurs on 28th August at the Old Trafford and two games into the season, its already a matter of life and death for United.

After a bitter 3-2 defeat against Brighton & Hove Albion, there is quite a lot of discontent among the fans for Jose Mourinho and basically the entire Manchester United management specifically Ed Woodward.

The upcoming fixture against Tottenham is really crucial for the Reds. With rumours plenty abound about Jose Being sacked and losing it with his third season syndrome upon us, Mourinho has been having a terrible week and a win would really help set things straight specially in a high profile match.

And for that what might come across as a brilliant piece of news is that Valencia, Matic, and Sanchez have all started training and are likely to feature against Spurs. During the pre-match press conference, Jose Mourinho speaking on the possibility of these players featuring and how close they are to being match fit said :

” I don’t know because today is still Friday and training Sat and Sun, match Monday, decisions to be made on Sunday but yes, they are training with the team.

Dalot is also training with the team for the first time this week, so in terms of the medical department, they are almost free.”

After having missed the first two fixtures, Valencia and Matic are most likely to start in the line-up against Tottenham. Whereas Sanchez had an injury prior to their last away game against Brighton and seems still doubtful about starting even though he took to Instagram to assure people that he was back to the training ground and is really looking forward to their next fixture.

The three of them have been training all week with the squad. Bringing back Matic would provide a lot of support defensively with his excellent marking and bold gameplay. Even adding Valencia by replacing Ashley Young would strengthen the defence much more and would make United’s defence undeniably better and bringing back that lost solidity and effectiveness.

Moreover Anthony Martial received a booking in his last outing and could run the risk of suspension by starting on monday against Spurs which is why the availability of Sanchez becomes all so important.

Ander Herrera is still unfit since he developed a hamstring injury during the pre-season tournament and Luke Shaw could also miss since he had a slight injury this week. Which means we are more likely to expect the 19-year-old fullback to make his first appearance against Tottenham

Apart from them another player back in time for the clash and more or less fully recovered is Jesse Lingard who seems all set to replace Juan Mata at the right side of the front three. Having arrived late from the World Cup, Lingard could be handed his first start of the season in order to get the front three fully functional against tottenham

Manchester United have had quite an encouraging history against Tottenham, as they have won 21 out of the 26 Premier League games against Spurs, but when analysed by their recent past fixtures, Tottenham has won both of their recent matches and are clearly in better form than Manchester United on paper despite having the worst transfer window all time time in the history of their club having failed to make a single signing during the entire time.

United have to give it their best against Pochettino and his men who have all now more or less recovered from their world cup hangover and have no injury problems of note either. United really need to win the trust and the support of the fans back as quickly as possible and it all starts with the game on monday against tottenham in order to get their season back on track.

Despite being just two matchdays old, United fans have quickly gotten an idea of how difficult the road ahead might be for them and a couple of more shaky performances like that against Brighton will more or less completely derail their title challenge even before it has actually started.

Tough times ahead never the less it is Manchester United we are talking about so ruling us out at any point of time would be a pretty naive thing to do. For now lets get behind the team and see where that takes us starting with the game against tottenham
