Manchester united Officials Tell Zinedine Zidane To Reject All Other Offers

Zidane to replace Mourinho

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho’s job has been under a lot of scrutiny in the light of his team’s recent performances, with only 10 points in 7 games before United played Newcastle at home in recent English Premier League fixture on last Saturday. With what seemed liked an improbable loss after being 2-0 down within 10 minutes of play, turned into an epic night when players responded heartily and came back to win the match by 3-2 in the second half. Despite that miraculous show of strength and resolution from the United players, Zinedine Zidane has been linked again with managerial post at Old Trafford if Mourinho gets sacked.

Earlier it was being stated that no matter what the result from the Newcastle game would be, Mourinho was certain to be sacked.

Now according to reports, Zinedine Zidane has been approached by Manchester United officials and have urged him to turn down job offers from other clubs. The state of this situation is not new for United as they did the same for Mourinho who was out of job since December 2015 and was appointed the United manager in the summer of 2016 after the sacking of then manager Louis Van Gaal.

The Daily mirror reported, Zidane has been asked to put hold on the current situation for a while and United boardroom believe that he is the ideal replacement to take on the club in a new direction. With 3 consecutive Champions League titles under his belt at Real Madrid, Zidane is a bookies favourite as well to take on the managerial role at United after Mourinho.

United play Mourinho’s former club Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge next in a must win game for the Red Devils, followed by the midweek Champions league tie at home to Juventus. Consecutive losses for the club could well and truly mean the sack for Mourinho after United made their worst start to the Premier League campaign in 29 years.

This would be United’s Executive Vice-Chairman, Ed Woodward’s third managerial sacking after Sir Alex Ferguson retired and David Moyes took over the club and might not be the last given the state of affairs at the club.
