Spanish Giants Make Massive Bid For Arsenal Star Striker Who Is Absolutely Not For Sale

When Barcelona come calling, they are normally accompanied by a truck full of cash and the enticement of regular champions league football.

It’s reported (The Express) that they may be interested in Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette who is currently in a rich vein of form.
Eric Abidal, who happens to be a director at the Catalan club, shares the same agent and it’s fair to suggest that he is on their radar.

Depending on how the Spanish outfit fare in front of goal next season, a bid wouldn’t be out of the question.

Luis Suarez is 32 , Ousmane Dembélé hasn’t quite lived up to the hype, Malcom and Kevin-Prince Boatang are not the type of players that will turn up regularly on the big stage.

Barcelona are having to contemplate major changes over the next three or four seasons. Even Lionel Messi, who will be 32 in June and is currently at his peak, will need to be replaced at some point.

The Spanish giants have been interested in Antoine Griezmann but they may have to offload before they bring in a player that will cost over £100 million, so they may look elsewhere and Alexandre Lacazette is an option.

Arsenal should deter any attempt to secure Lacazette, regardless of the offer but that oversimplifies the situation.

As fans are only too aware, of a player wants to leave, its desperately difficult to persuade them otherwise. It’s reported that the Barcelona are prepared to stump up £70m plus which could certainly help with Arsenal’s rebuilding programme.

At this moment in time, Lacazette is not only one of the gunners prized assets but he is also the better of the two strikers available.

Aubameyang is a fine player but he is more of an instinctive poacher, whereas Alexandre Lacazette creates danger from the build up play and poses a constant threat.

However, Alexandre Lacazette has ambition and wants to force his way back into the French National side permanently.

He also wants to be at the highest level of club football, so it may ultimately depend on Arsenal’s qualification to the champions league and the club’s ability to spend and contest the premiership next season.

Emery may have to contemplate building his team around the Frenchman, extending his contract further, offering more money and making him club Captain.

Whatever it takes, he can’t be allowed to leave at this stage of Arsenal’s reconstruction.

Anti Kroenke , anti Gazidis but always a gooner. Still wishes he could watch from the stands at the Highbury library.
