Alexis Sanchez Could Be On His Way To Real Madrid

Alexis Sanchez seems to be on the search of an exit from Manchester United in January, after failing to meet his expectations at the club.

Sanchez became the first ever Chilean to score for United after netting his first goal for them back in February. But ever since, his performances have been on a decline with limited game time and just 3 more goals for the club. The Chilean has failed to consolidate his position at Old Trafford since joining the club in January in a straight swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Alexis is reportedly not happy playing under Jose Mourinho and has asked his agent Fernando Felicevich to find him a new club. Spanish website Ok Diario has claimed that the former Arsenal man has been offered to Real Madrid.

Further, El Chiringuito claim that Felicevich has made contact with Real for a possible transfer of Sanchez in January. As of now, no deal has been struck between the two clubs and negotiations are yet to take place. Given the start to the season that United have had so far, bookies all around are offering not so spectacular odds on United finishing in the top four this season.

Los Blancos, on the other hand, have failed to secure a marquee signing after the unexpected departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer. Santiago Solari has been appointed as a stand-in manager for now and they’ll be looking to strengthen their prospects in the attack. Alexis is currently one of the biggest names on the transfer market and a deal is likely to happen, should Madrid push for the signing of him.

However, the transfer also hinges on the economic side of it with the Chilean international currently on a payroll of £450,000-a-week at Carrington. He might have to take a huge pay cut if he wants the move to go through..

Alexis, lately has been featuring as a No. 9 for United with games against Bournemouth and Juventus and has given in decent performances. He also helped his team secured a dramatic late comeback win against Newcastle United last month.

Going into the Christmas period, the Red Devils play 4 out of their next 6 games at Old Trafford and they might prove very crucial for Sanchez if he is to turn his fortunes at the club.
