Emery May Have To Start Shopping For Bargains This Summer And Here Are The Players Most Likely To Sign

Alberto Moreno, Adrien Rabiot, Arsenal linked to Rabiot and Moreno, Rabiot, PSG

Arsenal are looking to strengthen their squad in the upcoming summer transfer window at the end of the season and certainly have few candidates lined up. Two of them being Alberto Moreno and Adrien Rabiot.

It’s a well known fact that Arsenal may be pressed for cash in the upcoming transfer window but the reported figure of only £44million to spend, is wide of the mark if the Gunners are to find themselves in contention in all competitions next season.

Having said that, Emery has at least two players on his radar that he has worked with previously and who would be beneficial to Arsenal. The two players are Alberto Moreno, who will be available on a free from Liverpool and has worked with Emery at Sevilla and Adrien Rabiot, who has been one of the stars of PSG.

Arsenal have already been linked with the Liverpool left-back in December last year but, the move looks more likely in the summer as both clubs clear out their peripheral players. Alberto Moreno would be quite a catch for the Gunners, especially after looking at the current standards of the team.

Moreover, a free transfer is exactly something Arsenal should jump at, given the current financial situation at the club.

Rabiot was a target under Arsene Wenger and it would almost be ironic, if it were Emery that managed to secure his services after the former Arsenal boss tried so hard to lure him to London.

Rabiot has other options, as one might expect and it’s rumoured that Juventus and Inter Milan have been keen observers of the contract rebels situation.

More recently, it’s been reported (The Guardian) that Barcelona have secured a verbal agreement for his transfer in the closed season.

The Spanish club are already top heavy on superstars and will need to either form another club full of players that can’t make the grade or sell a few on at discounted prices.

However, Rabiot’s mother Veronique, who apart from imparting her valuable parental advice, washing and ironing her sons expensive clothes and providing him with nutritional delicacies, is also his agent.

Multitasking has hit a new level !

Rather confusingly, Mrs R has muddied the waters by apparently expressing her client’s “satisfaction” in a move to either Arsenal, Juventus or Inter Milan, according to FCInterNews. You may have noticed that there was no mention of Barcelona.

What does it all mean ? Absolutely nothing really, a speculation sandwich with a rumour filling.

Alberto Moreno and Adrien Rabiot are both available but, any potential clubs will start negotiations at the end of the season, at which time, Rabiot’s Mum may have to cast her paternal and professional eye over the small print.

Anti Kroenke , anti Gazidis but always a gooner. Still wishes he could watch from the stands at the Highbury library.
