Arsenal wanted to sign the young Frenchman Christopher Nkunku during the January transfer window, but failed miserably. Now, if reports are to be believed, the Gunners are ready to pounce on the 21-year-old again in the summer.
Arsenal’s much of the current season can be compared to a roller-coaster ride with its high’s and low’s throughout. But, it’s evident that the club is moving forward under the management of Unai Emery.
The Gunner’s season has been full of surprises evidently with some shock losses, and some comfortable wins. The Gunners are currently in a three-team battle for a champions league spot and are looking to end on a winning note in the Europa league.
With Arsenal management showing confidence in Emery, the Gunners are looking to get ready for the next season. There was much speculation about Arsenal appointing Monchi as the technical director at the club. But, the speculation is over with Monchi going back to Sevilla.

This points back to the question as who would be the next candidate now; an answer only time would tell. With or without Monchi, Arsenal are set to be busy in the transfer market this summer. With a number of names being linked in January, only Denis Suarez was the one which materialized.
One of the names which is being linked with the club is of Christopher Nkunku. The French midfielder was one of the names being linked earlier in the January window too. But, it was reported that the Gunners missed out narrowly on him.
However, according to the reports, the Gunners are ready to compete for him this summer. Any deal for the midfielder is expected to be around €35m including bonuses.
The midfielder has shown promising talent in the middle of the park. And this is something Arsenal need to build if, they want to compete for top honours next season. With Matteo Guendouzi, Granit Xhaka and Torreira in the midfield, a player like Christopher Nkunku can be a sizeable asset.
However, there are some rumours of conflict in the Arsenal camp and reports of a shock exit of Granit Xhaka. Howsoever, Arsenal fans would want these rumours to fade away but the talks of bringing another midfielder in the summer are sure to raise some eyebrows.
If Xhaka leaves the club, the future destinations are still unknown. But one thing is for sure, that the fans would not want such a thing to happen. According to reports, a deal for the midfielder couldn’t be completed in the winter because of the inability of signing a replacement by PSG.
However, the Ligue 1 side is expected to sign a replacement for Christopher Nkunku this summer.
Whatever happens, one thing is certain that Arsenal are now moving in the right direction and are starting to play just like their glory days. But, there are things to be improved upon and they are looking at a bright future under Unai Emery.
