Why Arsenal bid for Emil Forsberg is clearly justified despite Ozil and Mikhitaryan

In the past few years, Wenger has received a lot of criticism for his dormancy and indecision during the transfer windows and this inactivity has manifested into the lackluster and inept performance of the club in the recent past.[spacer height=”30px”]

However in light of the recent few transfer windows gone by, the seemingly good news is that the French Boss has realized that his team does require some world class players who can bring laurels to the club in order to compete with the other glittery teams in the League.[spacer height=”30px”]

As a result, Arsene Wenger has been staunchly determined and successful in grabbing the likes of Lacazette, Aubameyang, Xhaka and many more such consistent players in order to compete with the best.[spacer height=”30px”]

Having said that, Gunners do lack the creativity in the attacking midfield in the absence of Ozil and to counter that issue Wenger had been on the lookout during the January transfer window for such players and one of them is the Swedish International, Emil Forsberg for whom the gunner apparently had a bid rejected during the January transfer window.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]
Going by what German Football expert Raphael Honigstein
spoke out on during his appearance on The Totally Football Show, the players interest in a move to the Premier League was quite evident despite being happy with the present surroundings.[spacer height=”30px”]

Here is what his assessment of Emil Forsberg was : [spacer height=”30px”]

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””] “Emil Forsberg has been in and out of the (RB Leipzig) team with injuries, and they’ve really missed him a lot. [spacer height=”20px”]“He is still a guy who really wants to go to the Premier League. He was very upset when Arsenal’s offer was turned down straight away by Leipzig. [spacer height=”20px”] “I think that sort of team will come back in for him because he has got a lot of talent.” [/perfectpullquote]
[spacer height=”30px”]

The attacking midfielder established himself in the Bundesliga last season with an impressive 19 assists in 30 games, but this year however Forsberg a culmination of form and persistent injury set-backs has led to him suffering a series of disappointments with him scoring just five and assisting another three amid just 21 appearances this season. Combining with that is the news of him falling out with his boss Ralph Hasenhutti which has exacerbated the situation.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]
Gunners made a genuine attempt to sign the young Scandinavian in January transfer window, but they were snubbed by the RB Leipzig hierarchy in an outright manner which led to the further tempestuous situations between Forsberg and his boss, but those claims were later rubbish by Forsberg while talking to Expressen :

[spacer height=”30px”]

[perfectpullquote align=”full” cite=”” link=”” color=”” class=”” size=””] “No, I have a great relationship with my coach”[spacer height=”20px”] “I understand there will be tittle-tattle when I am not playing, but I am enjoying my time at the club.[spacer height=”20px”] “We will continue to write history and aim at grabbing the Europa League” [/perfectpullquote]
[spacer height=”30px”]

Sweden International himself has expressed his desire to make a move to the premier league and thus, he was irked by the approach of the club and the manner in which the bid was handled, which was rather pejorative during the january transfer window.[spacer height=”30px”]

Emirates will be eagerly waiting for the arrival of the attacking midfielder who is expected to complement Ozil and will look to lift some of the creative burden of the Germans shoulder for the Gunners.[spacer height=”30px”]

From an arsenal point of view the idea of another creative midfielder may be amiss but with the volatility regarding Jack Wilshere’s contract saga and the number of competitions that Arsenal wish to stay competitive in indeed does justify Arsenal’s interest in him.[spacer height=”30px”]

In the absolutely earth shattering scenario of Jack Wilshere leaving the club on the free, there is very little that club can do to justify the departure of another home grown talent and a true arsenal man and bringing in one of the most talented creative midfielders in the top five leagues to fill the void might just be it.[spacer height=”30px”]

Ozil in the centre, Mikhitaryan on the right and Emil Forsberg on the left flank, surely there aren’t too many better attacking midfield line up on this planet which shows why despite having two of the best creative midfielders in the planet the arrival of another Swedish one is very much welcomed.[spacer height=”30px”]

Lets not kid ourselves, Jacky Boy leaving is the most cruel thing that the fans can tolerate all around the world and if there is any shiny new toy which the club can produce it is this guy. Wanted by AC Milan, Juventus, Liverpool, Man United it would almost certainly be a coup if the club could snatch him right under their noses.[spacer height=”30px”]

It’s all about time and what decisions span out from both the parties involved in this Forsberg saga which will decide the outcome of this.
