The Gunners have made a bid for securing the services of Lille winger Nicolas Pepe, if latest reports from Italy are to be believed.
Nicolas Pepe is an Ivorian international who plays as a winger for French club Lille OSC since 2017.
The French-born Ivorian is very much in Unai Emery’s plans as the Arsenal coach looks to add more attacking strength to the squad following a lack of options upfront after the Danny Welbeck injury way back in November.
Rumours suggests that Arsenal have made a bid of 45 million pounds plus further add-ons depending upon the number of appearances and club performance made by Nicolas Pepe.

The Ligue One star who has a contract till 2022 has already informed the French club Lille OSC that he wants to leave by the end of the season.
In an interview with La Voix du Nord, Nicolas Pepe said:
“To end the season with LOSC, for me that’s for sure”
“As the president [Michel Seydoux] said, I decided to finish the season in Lille and, at the end of it, nothing will be done”
The Ivorian has been on fire this season, producing twelve goals and five assists in just nineteen Ligue 1 matches. Procuring the services of the exciting winger in the Winter market will be high on the priority list of Emery.
Even though Arsenal have two right wingers in Iwobi and Mkhitaryan, the two have been responsible for just six goals and five assists with Mkhitaryan having produced just one assist this season.
Unlike the Turkish ‘Paulo Dybala’ Under, Nicolas Pepe is not known for taking powerful shots from outside the box. But what will excite the Arsenal fans is how he utilizes his electric pace and exceptional dribbling skills to dominate opponents for creating goal scoring opportunities.

However, apart from being a creator for the team, he is also a good finisher inside the box and has plenty of goals in him. The Ivory Coast International is ranked 20th for shots, 7th in goals, 18th in chances created and 16th in assists in the French League.
Pepe has all the attributes of being a promising attacker for Arsenal. So, if Unai Emery were to sign this player in the winter window, one can surely expect a much more deadlier Arsenal attack with Pepe’s involvement in it.
