According to Daily Mail, Arsenal is seriously considering the transfer of £50m Everton defender Micheal Keane this Summer. However, Arsenal will face tough competition in the form of Spurs, who also look to strengthen their squad for next season.

Reports say that both the North London clubs had scouts watching over the 26-year-old during his game against West Ham United last Saturday.

Micheal Keane has been in great form this season for the Toffees. The former Manchester United man has played a total of 29 games for Everton this season out of 32 league games.

Gareth Southgate, the England manager, also looked upon the 26-year-old as a great player. This was the prime reason why he was called up for the UEFA Euro Qualifiers in the International break. Micheal featured in England’s last 2 games, playing the full 90 minutes in each of them and also scoring once in the game against Montenegro, his first for England.

Keane’s style of play is something to watch out for and likewise, it has been receiving a lot of attention this season. The way he plays out the ball from the back without succumbing to pressure and having a great passing accuracy at the same time is a quality which only the best defenders possess. Heading the ball into the net from corner-kicks offers as a merit for a defender of good calibre, exactly what Micheal Keane does.

Everton are looking to bring in another player in the center-back area, having only 4 choices for that position. If they were to sell Keane this summer, it would undoubtedly, be at a very high price which has been stated at £50m.

Meanwhile, Tottenham wants to pursue for the English International in the summer transfer window as Toby Alderweireld is set to leave the club at the end of the season. Pochettino desires to replace the Belgian with Micheal Keane, which would definitely be a great step to take on his part.

Arsenal on the other hand, seem to have their own problems at the back this season under Emery. Strengthening the center-back position would be a ‘good option’ for Unai Emery, as he seems eager to make his squad perfect for the upcoming season and Micheal Keane would be the correct step for sure.

According to Ladbrokes, Arsenal are favourites to sign the Everton man ahead of Tottenham, having a 7/4 chance of signing him up with Spurs having only 3/1 chance, if these online predictions are to be believed in.
