BRILLIANT | £10 mil England International Is The Man Arsenal Are Working On To Bring Onboard As The Petr Cech Replacement

Nick Pope

As per news circulating in England, Burnley keeper Nick Pope has been linked with Arsenal. According to the report, Arsenal have earmarked Nick Pope as the ideal replacement for shot-stopper Petr Cech.

Arsenal number one Petr Cech, after playing 15 seasons with the premier league side, has decided to hang his boots at the end of this season.

Arsenal signed Bernd Leno last summer who has been their first choice keeper in all the premier league games ahead of Cech. Whereas Cech has only featured regularly in the cup and Europa league games this season under Unai Emery, ever since he suffered that hamstring injury.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche had previously confirmed that one of his three keepers are likely to leave the club this summer. And according to The Sun, Arsenal want to sign Nick pope as their second choice keeper as a replacement for Petr Cech.

Nick Pope is an English keeper who has one cap for the national team and was also named in the 23-man squad for the 2018 world cup.

Due to an unlikely injury to Tom Heaton, Pope made 35 appearances keeping 11 clean sheets for Burnley in the 2017/18 season. But now, ever since Pope had suffered a shoulder injury earlier on into the season, he has found himself with very little to do for the clarets and has just two appearances to his name this season.

Both Joe Hart and Tom Heaton are ahead of the English keeper and as a consequence the first one of the three to be leaving the Clarets will most likely be Nick Pope.

With the right guidance and opportunity, the English shot stopper can potentially serve to become a very good replacement for the departing Petr Cech. Having already received call up for the national team under Gareth Southgate, Pope certainly has the credentials and the talent behind backing himself for a move to the Emirates in the summer.

Moving to secure the services of Nick Pope for Unai Emery’s Arsenal can prove to be a very shrewd piece of business for Arsenal as he already has quality top flight experience by playing for Burnley for the last two seasons and will give some high quality competition to Bernd Leno.
