According to reports in London, Arsenal starlet Charlie Patino has suffered an injury setback while playing for Championship side Blackpool. The on-loan youngster suffered an ankle injury during their clash with Queens Park Rangers.
Charlie Patino is set to undergo a scan after rolling his ankle during the 1-0 win at Loftus Road Stadium. The 18-year-old managed to finish the first half of the game but was however forced off during the break.

During the post-match press conference, Blackpool manager, Michael Appleton (via Football London) spoke about Patino’s injury:
“We look a little light in midfield now and that worries me a bit.”
“The injury to Charlie was a big blow because he was having a big influence on the game, he was playing his part.”
“It was quite badly swollen at half-time. We’ve got to get the swelling down and once we’re in a position where the swelling is under control then he can go and get it scanned.”
Charlie Patino rose through the ranks of Arsenal’s youth academy and is seen as one of their most promising youth prospects. Patino made his first team debut for Arsenal during a 5–1 EFL Trophy quarter-final victory against Sunderland, where he scored the final goal of the game at the Emirates.
Early signs looking quite good with Patino’s injury. He was at Arsenal yesterday but has already returned to Blackpool.
He’ll be sidelined for a bit, but it doesn’t look like being anything properly long-term. That’s a positive, given the big impact he’s made on loan already.

Being hailed as one of the best young players emerging from Premier League clubs’ academies, Patino joined the Tangerines on a season-long loan for the duration of the 2022–23 season. The midfielder kicked off his loan spell in an impressive fashion and has made three appearances (stats via Transfermarkt) for Michael Appleton’s side so far.
The Hale end graduate has already created an impact at Bloomfield Road Stadium. Coach Michael Appleton is full of praises for Gunner’s hottest, young prospect. Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta hopes that this injury does not cause a major setback in the development of their young and talented star midfielder.
