Arsenal Formally Hold Talks With Barcelona For Dembele After Player Himself Requests To Leave In January

Ousmane Dembele

Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele could be well out of Catalonia within just a year and half at the Catalan Capital. The French World Cup winner is certainly not fulfilling the legacy left by the Brazilian starlet, Neymar JR.

He has found difficulties in adjusting to the style of play and saw himself succumb to injuries. This season has been one hell of a roller coaster ride for Dembele having scored in crucial matches during desperate situations. However he has fallen out of favour with Barcelona coach Ernesto Valverde and has been asked to depart from the Catalan Capital in the January transfer window, according to the GOAL.

Earlier this season, Dembele turned up late for training sessions and is also said to have an unhealthy lifestyle which relies mainly on junk food. These habits and his inability to perform consistently are what has led us to believe that Dembele may be well out of Barcelona by January.

The funds which will be obtained by the departure of Dembele would facilitate the return of Neymar back to Barcelona according to the report from GOALArsenal is said to be one of the preferred destinations for the French wonderkid also having sparked some interest among Liverpool and PSG.

Dembele has already shared the dressing room with some of the Gunners at Borussia Dortmund. Having had a good relationship with striker, Pierre-Emerick-Aubameyang and former team mates Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Sokratis, there should be no doubt the Frenchman would ease into the team and have a comfortable season under new manager, Unai Emery.

Arsenal, this season under Emery in post-Wenger era have played some scintillating football and are ranked at the 5th position in the league with 28 points. The addition of one of the most promising youngster might just make the gunners even more dangerous offensively and might just be what they need to finally and realistically challenge for the title.
