Mesut Ozil And Unai Emery Involved In A Dressing Room Bust-up

Mesut, West Brom, Ozil

Before the match against West Ham United, Mesut Ozil went back to his home after spending an hour in the dressing room. It is rumored that Unai Emery and Mesut had a rift before the match which might have caused him to leave.

Though Emery was quick in clearing this, saying:

“Two days ago I spoke with him about things tactically for this match and the last match, and he said to me he was sick two days ago.

“On Friday, after my conversation on Thursday, he continued to stay off sick. We spoke with the doctor and decided it was better for him to stay at home.’’

“He came for one hour and stayed for one hour in the dressing room with the players,” he continued. “He was not 100 percent good but he stayed with us for a while.”

It seems as though Emery and Mesut had it coming a long time, and was quite apparent when the Arsenal boss hooked him at Chelsea last weekend. The Spaniard has been talking about changing the playmaker’s position this weekend.

The Gooners were ecstatic when Ozil joined Arsenal in the summer of 2013, I stayed up the whole night just to follow the deal live, which came around 5 am IST. But ever since, the player has had his fair share of criticism from the boss and the fans alike for his lack of pace during the game.

Although the £300,000-a-week worth star has a reputation of being one of the best creators in the world, at times it seems as though he is uninterested in the game that is at hand and is unwilling to track back to support our shaky defense and has failed to impress the new boss upon his arrival.

Our No. 10 was devastatingly taken off the field against Chelsea on the 66th minute despite having tracked back defensively on numerous occasions.

The new boss has made it clear to everyone that his main motive is to bring Arsenal back up to top-four and will only take the players who are working hard and preaching the same philosophy. As demonstrated, he won’t be shy to sideline the highest player in the history of Arsenal and compromise the quality of his intense style of play.

The Mirror report that Emery has made it clear to the German that he must buy into the new philosophy at the club and would not hesitate to leave him out of his side if he does not meet his demands.

The Arsenal midfielder is reportedly back to training after recovering from his illness ahead of their visit to Cardiff City on Sunday. A twitter picture was posted online showing Mesut on the training grounds.

Ozil took a full part in Wednesday’s session and looks set to be included in this weekend’s squad as Arsenal look to pick up their first away win under Emery.

The uncertainty still hangs over Mesut, while Alexandre Lacazette might be pushing for his first start of the season after coming off the bench last weekend to impress the crowd and the boss alike. He might be paired along with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on his left.

Lucas Torreira, might finally be getting his first start as a Gunner alongside Granit Xhaka in the middle of the park as well.
