Arsenal vs Everton

We observed three crucial things as Arsenal dominated against struggling Everton and extended their lead at the top of the Premier League table to five points. The Gunners thrashed the visitors 4-0 at the Emirates as they capitalised on their game in hand.

Martin Odegaard virtually secured the victory when he converted a Leandro Trossard pass into a goal. Throughout the game, the home team relentlessly bombarded Jordan Pickford’s goal with shots, with Martinelli adding a second goal to Arsenal’s tally after another fluid attacking move.

The triumph marked the North London side’s third consecutive victory, which further strengthens their claim for the Premier League title. Meanwhile, the Toffees find themselves embroiled in a relegation battle, struggling to climb out of 18th position.

1. Everton Need To Win More Games

According to Sean Dyche, the game’s dynamics shifted with the first goal, but the game plan was effective up until then, particularly given the challenging venue. Dyche acknowledges that there is still much work to be done, and he was aware of the challenges when he arrived. Despite the difficulties, his team remain focused on their objectives.

Although Everton did manage to threaten Arsenal at some points, they were unable to breach Aaron Ramsdale’s goal. The English keeper made a fantastic double save from substitute players Demarai Gray and Tom Davies during injury time.

2. Thomas Partey Is Back

After coming on, Thomas Partey had a significant positive impact which contributed to the Gunners’ 4-0 victory over Sean Dyche’s men. The second half was characterised by the hosts’ almost complete dominance, with the Ghanaian taking control of the midfield after replacing Jorginho at halftime.

3.  Starboys Saka And Martinelli Are Carrying The Burden

The attacking duo of Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli have both reached double figures for goals in the Premier League this season, making Arsenal the only team with two players to achieve this feat. For Saka, his goal against Everton marked his 50th goal involvement in the Premier League, with 27 goals and 24 assists. At 21 years and 177 days, the English winger became the sixth youngest player in Premier League history to reach this milestone.
