summer transfer window, Arsenal rebuild replacements, Gunners transfer window, next transfer window crucial

Arsenal are keeping tabs on the Argentine attacker, Paulo Dybala, especially as recent reports suggest Dybala will not renew his contract with Juventus and will leave the club at the end of the season. Arsenal do not want to waste any time as they build the squad for their next season. Mikel Arteta has expressed his desire of signing a new forward, a midfielder and a right-winger, as Nicholas Pepe’s future looks uncertain.

Arsenal board want to show their confidence in manager Mikel Arteta going into the new season. The London club has a high chance of playing in the Champions League next season. Keeping in mind the requirement of a forward, the club had enquired about the availability of Paulo Dybala in February. A recent update by reliable journalist Rory Smith suggests there is a high chance Dybala could end up at the Emirates for the next season.

Rory Smith has looked into the clubs which are believed to be after Paulo Dybala’s signature. Speaking on The Monday Night Club (via The Boot Room), Smith hinted that Arsenal may be the best-placed Premier League club to sign the Argentinian. He said:

“He’s not really a high presser, so I suspect that rules out Liverpool and even City. I suspect City will sign Erling Haaland, so I expect that’s their striking option sorted.

“United he would be high profile and extremely talented, but is that what United need? To go and think he’s available, let’s sign him. That’s not worked well for nine years, so my understanding is that they should go and take a different approach.

“He’s a brilliant footballer, Dybala, he’s wonderful to watch. Maybe Arsenal would be the best bet, I guess.”

Dybala’s Time At Juventus

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Paulo Dybala is set to leave Juventus as a free agent. The Argentine arrived at the Old Lady from Palermo around seven years ago, for €40million (around £23.4million). Since then, he has scored 142 goals and has 48 assists in 283 games for the Italian giants. This season, the 28-year-old forward has eight goals and five assists in 21 Serie A matches (stats via whoscored). He is just shy of four goals to score a century of goals in the Italian league.

During his time at Turin, Dybala helped Juventus secure the Serie A five times in a row from 2016 to 2020, and also clinch the Copa Italia four times. He was instrumental in taking the Italian giants to the 2017 Champions League final, where they lost 1-4 to Real Madrid. The forward was also adjudged the Player of the Year for Juventus for the 2019-20 season. He also has 32 caps with the Argentine national team but was not part of the 2021 Copa America winning squad.

How Serious Are Arsenal About Dybala?

Among the Premier League clubs, Arsenal and Tottenham are keeping their eye on Dybala. Reports suggested they asked to be informed about the player’s choices. With the Gunners confirmed to bring a major striker this summer, Rory Smith suggested watching out for the club in the battle for Dybala. Signing the Argentine forward on a free transfer would be an excellent job keeping in mind both the football as well as economic aspect.

Some will raise questions about Dybala’s age, as he will turn 29 in November. Some may even doubt his ability due to the slump in his form since the last four seasons. Nonetheless, if Arsenal manage to bring him to the Emirates it will be a huge matter. With the club almost on the crisp of confirming their eligibility in the Champions League for next season, a world-class signing like Dybala could prove massive to boost morale and results for the upcoming season.
