Sokratis Injury Latest | Club Release Latest Injury Update on Koscielny and Sokratis

injury,

Arsenal are currently enduring a woeful injury crisis at the moment, and it only got worse for them last night.

Two crucial first team players, Laurent Koscielny and Sokratis both suffered injuries in the F.A Cup defeat to Manchester United and hobbled off, clearly in immense pain.

Koscielny came off worse for wear in a tussle for the ball with Romelu Lukaku. The United striker accidentally kicked the French defender – who was on the ground after landing awkwardly – in the face. The injury was so bad Koscielny was taken to the hospital, and there are fears he has broken his jaw.

Sokratis was withdrawn midway through the first half after going in for a tackle and twisting his ankle in the process.

The two injuries are a massive blow for Arsenal, who are already struggling with a number of key players on the treatment table. More recently, Hector Bellerin was ruled out for the rest of the season, nine months in total, after damaging his anterior cruciate ligament. Rob Holding was also ruled out for seven months with a knee injury earlier in the season. Danny Welbeck suffered a gruesome ankle break in November and may be out for a very long time.

With qualification for the Champions League next season still not guaranteed, the Gunners will need all their key players fit. They are unable to sign reinforcements either due to their lack of funds. Emery will undoubtedly be praying that the two injuries suffered last night are only minor ones.

“I hope they are not two big injuries,” Emery said.

“Sokratis hurt his ankle – I hope not a lot. Koscielny is different.

It was maybe a break. I hope not but he’s going to the hospital and we’re going to wait.

He is going to the hospital for analysis. Maybe he has a break, I hope not.”

Latest update on the injury by the club suggests that the Greek centre-back will return to training “by the end of February”. However to cheer things up, the injury by Koscielny maybe not be a lengthy one with the update posted on the official website describing it as “Bruising and soft tissue swelling to face and jaw”.

All in all pretty gloomy and end of the world coming right up. Stay tuned for latest updates right here.
