Arsenal’s long list of injured players has put the club in dire need for new signings. However, the club’s management has made it clear that the Gunners will not make any permanent signings in the January transfer window. The best the fans can hope for are loan deals and the latest name being touted is Nicolo Zaniolo of AS Roma
Nicolo Zaniolo is the latest, among some other big names, who is being linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in the summer.
According to Nicolo Schira of La Gazzetta dello Sports, the London club is interested to bring in the 19-year-old midfielder. He further claims that Arsenal’s representatives met with the youngster’s agents to discuss a possible move to the Emirates Stadium at the end of the season.

Nicolo Zaniolo has a contract with Roma till 2023. As such there is no real pressure on the club to sell the young midfielder shall they feel that their demands are not being met.
The Italian starlet joined the Giallorossi from Inter in July and one can assume that the Rome based football club will be in no hurry to part ways with the young man.
In fact, according to Corriere dello Sport, Roma has made contacts with Zaniolo’s agent to negotiate a new contract. It is believed that the club will offer the midfielder a new contract in February to extend his stay at the club till 2024.
Nicolo Zaniolo, just 19 years of age, has already bagged 10 Serie A appearances and 5 Champions league appearances for Roma in his brief period at the club.

Nicolo Zaniola is one of the most highly rated young players in Italy at the moment. His quality is such that former footballer Stefano Vecchi compared the youngster to the likes of Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard.
“He will go places,” Vecchi told La Gazzetta dello Sport. “He has the characteristics to become a modern mezzala. He’s a [Steven] Gerrard, [Frank] Lampard-type player.”
Unai Emery has already brought in, and heavily relied upon, young players like Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi. It will be no surprise shall he choose to do so again with the Italian starlet, Nicolo Zaniolo.
