According to French news outlet, Le 10 Sport, Arsenal have made a serious approach for Guingamp Winger Marcus Thuram, who will be available at the end of the season.
Marcus Thuram is a 21-year-old french Winger who currently plays for French side Guingamp in Ligue 1. He has showed some brilliant performances this season raising quite a few eyebrows among the big clubs. He has scored 11 goals in 29 matches in all competitions for Guingamp, but so far these performances have gone in vain as they haven’t helped his side get out of the relegation zone with only a few matches remaining to the end of the season.

French outlet report also goes on to say that along with Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund are also in pursuit to sign the left-winger this summer which isn’t surprising to say the least as they always tend to go after young talents from Bundesliga and Ligue 1.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery knows the French market very well after his 2 year spell for Paris Saint Germain and this will certainly them an edge over the Bundesliga side.
Marcus Thuram is a highly versatile player and can play on both wings. He has decent speed and he is highly clinical in front of goal which sounds like a much needed utility for the Gunners if they are able to eventually land him at the Emirates at the end of the season. Moreover Marcus Thuram is the son of the French legend Lilian Thuram which gives the Gunners another added reason to sign this French prodigal sensation.
From what has been observed from his performances this season, the only apparent flaw to his game at this age is that Marcus has been very selfish at times in front of goal and that he needs to create more chances for his fellow teammates rather than go for glory at all times.
He needs to improve this side of his game if he intends to play for the Gunners or any other top flight team. That being said, Thuram has the ability to bring the much needed spark from the wings that has rarely been seen this season. Add to that his versatility and the price range being mentioned here, the chances of a deal like this playing out are actually quite probable.
Alex Iwobi is the only out n out winger in Unai Emery’s side at the moment and this signing would probably go a long way in filling that void going into the 2019-2020 season.
Marcus Thuram wouldn’t cost the Gunners abundance of money as his market value isn’t very high at the moment but if other clubs would want to jump in to sign the French star, his price might increase down the line. For now, no decision has been made by the Gunners but as the days go by it would seem to make a lot of sense in seeing both the clubs mentioned here fighting to secure Thuram’s signature at the end of the season.
