Arsenal Planning to Lodge Summer Bid for €70m Rated Chelsea Forward, Arteta Keen to Re-unite With Winger

Raheem Sterling, Arsenal

According to latest reports, Arsenal are monitoring the situation of Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling and could launch a bid in the summer. The Gunners are looking to add another attacker to their forward line in the upcoming transfer window and manager Mikel Arteta has identified the English winger as a potential target

Raheem Sterling has struggled to replicate his previous form since moving to Stamford Bridge last summer for around £50 million, having accumulated only four goals and 2 assists in 18 Premier League appearances this season.

Despite his recent struggles, the 28-year-old forward remains one of the top performers in the English top-flight, having scored 121 goals in the competition (stats via Transfermarkt) during his spells at Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea.

The English winger’s agent recently dismissed rumours that the he is looking to leave the club, but his future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain. He recently returned from a hamstring injury and is feeling fit and well ahead of the remainder of the campaign.

As reported by 90min, Arsenal are interested in signing Raheem Sterling and could lodge a summer bid for the Chelsea attacker. With Champions League football almost certain to return to the Emirates next season, the Gunners are looking to add a forward with European experience.

Mikel Arteta is said to be a huge admirer of the English winger due to his ability to play in all positions across the forward line. The Spaniard is keen on reuniting with the 28-year-old in the summer and could make a move for the player if the Blues make him available.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Graham Potter is under pressure to perform, although he still has the backing of at least one of the club’s owners. Moreover, the Blues are in tricky spot as they have to offload some players after bolstering their squad in the last two transfer windows.

Player Analysis

Raheem Sterling is a highly skilled forward player who has established himself as one of the most dangerous attackers in the game. His combination of speed, dribbling ability, and finishing prowess makes him a nightmare for defenders to handle.

One of Sterling’s most notable attributes is his blistering pace. He is one of the quickest players in the Premier League and uses his speed to devastating effect on the counter-attack. His acceleration allows him to leave defenders in his wake as he creates space for himself and his teammates to exploit.

In addition to his speed, the English international is also an excellent dribbler. He has the ability to glide past defenders with ease and possesses great close control, allowing him to keep the ball close to his feet in tight spaces. His quick feet and agility make him a difficult player to tackle, and he is often successful in drawing fouls from opposition defenders.

The 28-year-old winger is also a clinical finisher in front of goal. He has a knack for being in the right place at the right time and has a deadly instinct for scoring goals. He can finish with either foot and has a variety of techniques at his disposal, including chip shots, curling efforts, and powerful strikes.

Aside from his technical abilities, Sterling is also a hard-working player who puts in a shift for his team both with and without the ball. He is known for his high work rate, and his pressing and tracking back are vital in disrupting opposition attacks and winning back possession.
