Arsenal Need to dig Deep Into Their Pockets to Keep the Vultures Away From Their Best and the Brightest

Arsenal, Arsenal transfer, transfer window

It’s like hitting the rewind button and traveling back to a time when Arsenal players were the subject of unwanted attention and potential transfer moves away from the North London club. This time it’s not the big name established stars but a whole host of Arsenal’s brightest emerging talent, with a number of high profile clubs including Liverpool, just waiting to capitalise on Arsenal’s haphazard contract negotiations.

I recently did a blog on how a number of Arsenal’s academy stars would leave the club and not long after Robbie Burton, the Gunners’ under 23 captain, left to begin his career at Dinamo Zagreb.

Arsenal’s most embarrassing loss was probably that of Serge Gnabry to Bayern Munich, but it could get even worse with the possible departures of Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka who have made a big impression this term.

Saka is in negotiations with Arsenal but it’s thought that a number of high profile clubs are on red alert should his pen not touch the paper soon. Martinelli has caught the eye of Jurgen Klopp and it wouldn’t be a surprise for the Liverpool boss to come calling in the summer. He’s signed up until 2024 but I doubt that will deter the biggest clubs on the planet at home and abroad.

What Arsenal’s Second Half Goal Fest Against Newcastle has Taught us

The latest update from the Emirates is that Arsenal are pulling out all the stops to secure Saka on a long term contract, they need to dig deep and pay the young players the going rate, if not, their heads will be turned, especially if their playing opportunities are limited.

Personally, I can’t see Saka being allowed to leave over money, if he refuses to sign then it will be because he has a greater chance of acquiring playing time elsewhere.

Anti Kroenke , anti Gazidis but always a gooner. Still wishes he could watch from the stands at the Highbury library.
