After securing Saka contract extension can Arsenal now get Balogun to stay in the summer despite reports to the contrary

Folarin Balogun

Like many Arsenal fans, I had a heavy heart when it was revealed that Folarin Balogun was to leave the club in the summer. I’d been looking forward to him finally breaking through the ranks of the academy to cement himself into the first team.

Folarin Balogun must consider that he has very little chance of breaking through even though he is one of the most highly regarded youngsters and has an impeccable record in an Arsenal shirt. In the 70 games he has featured in Arsenal’s U18s and 23 sides, he has scored a combined 50 goals with 12 assists to his name.

Fast forward to this campaign and the 18-year-old American has been equally impressive with 10 goals and 4 assists. The club’s failure to promote him with such outstanding figures probably added to his frustrations and resulted in his decision to leave.

Today, the youngster seemed to confirm his exit on Instagram after failing to agree to a new contract with Arsenal. The teenager’s social media post, which appears to be a farewell message, drops a major hint that his future lies away from Arsenal.

However, could the contract extension for Bukayo Saka encourage Folarin Balogun to extend his stay? Let’s hope so. Perhaps, in a way, he will be encouraged by the fact that Lacazette and Aubameyang will not be around in the coming seasons and that a starting place could be his for the taking. As rumours of Lacazette making a switch increases, global bookies like paripop casino en ligne have started offering increasing odds on Lacazette making a move in the summer and this could potentially signal a brighter Arsenal first team future for Folarin Balogun.

Does Ainsley Maitland Niles Have a Future at Arsenal Under Arteta?

He could easily rotate with Martinelli and Nketiah in the striker’s role and if he excels, he’d command the slot he deserves and craves. Another plus could be Arteta’s influence should he choose to become involved.

Arteta has received numerous glowing reports regarding the player from his numerous coaches and the Spaniard will be well aware that the answer to his goal-scoring problem in the future could be right under his very nose. Arsenal would do well to avoid a repeat of the Serge Gnarby error if they can hopefully avoid it.

Anti Kroenke , anti Gazidis but always a gooner. Still wishes he could watch from the stands at the Highbury library.
