Arsenal Make Major Move For Superb £52m Bundesliga Striker Whom Barcelona Deeply Covet

According to reports from Spain, Arsenal have made an inquiry about Luka Jovic to Frankfurt for signing this summer.

Serbian international Luka Jovic, who is on loan to Eintracht Frankfurt from Benfica, is one of the most prolific strikers of this generation. There have been many big clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid who are interested in signing the forward this summer and many more are set to join the queue ahead of the summer window.

Luka Jovic has been unstoppable this season, scoring an exceptional 21 goals in all competitions. He is the top scorer in the league so far, with 15 goals in 21 appearances ahead of the sensational Robert Lewandowski (13). No wonder why big clubs have an eye on him.

Arsenal’s go to man Danny Welbeck has been injured for most of the season, after undergoing a broken right ankle surgery in November last year. Welbeck’s contract expires at the end of the season which has left Arsenal wondering whether to sign a new striker or offer him a new one.

Frankfurt have reportedly set a price tag of £52 million for the 21-year-old star. Frankfurt have an option to buy Luka for £5.3 million before selling him for a huge amount in the summer. Benfica on the other hand cannot stop Frankfurt from using the option to buy as that would mean a contract breach, as they were the one’s who had come up with the idea to put the clause in there in the first place.

Reports also suggested previously that Barcelona are close to sign the forward, saying the club and and the player representative’s are close to an agreement on a contract. However, after hearing about these rumour’s Barcelona had to come out with an official statement saying nothing has been agreed with the player’s representatives and no contact has been made by the club thus putting to bed any speculation regarding this whatsoever.

After being questioned about these unexpected interests from the biggest clubs in Europe, Luka told Sportsbuzzer about where his priorities lied saying:

“I’m honoured , of course, for such big clubs to show an interest in me, but right now I’m happy here in Frankfurt and i feel good here. At the moment I’m just concentrating on Eintracht Frankfurt, that’s my top priority.”

Right now, Arsenal have just made an inquiry about the price for which Frankfurt would want to sell the player but no official contact has been made. So clearly, Arsenal are looking at their options ahead of whats going to be an apparent bidding war for the 21-year-old between some of the biggest clubs in the world like like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and many others.

To sum this up, Frankfurt are going to make a lot of money from selling the Serbian forward, but where the player will move to is only going to be decided in the summer and based on what the player feels is best for him and his development. Arsenal have showed some interest in the striker but would they go after the player for such a valuation, only time will tell.
