According to reports, Arsenal are ready to entertain offers for left-back Nuno Tavares this summer. The Gunners are looking to bring in some high profile names, with Declan Rice among top targets, to continue their build-up and therefore, are preparing for multiple exits to balance their books.
Tavares is currently on loan at Olympique Marseille. He is having a standout season at the French club and his market value has reportedly risen significantly owing to his impressive performances, scoring six goals in 24 Ligue 1 games.
However, despite demonstrating impressive attacking potential at Marseille, the Gunners remain concerned about his defensive capabilities. While the left-back had a decent debut season at the Emirates, manager Mikel Arteta may have deemed the Portuguese player as surplus and could be willing to sell him to make a profit.

According to Football Insider, Arsenal have transfer-listed Nuno Tavares and are ready to sell the defender for a reasonable offer when the summer window opens. Besides the Portuguese full-back, the Gunners are also willing to listen to offers for Kieran Tierney and Albert Sambi Lokonga.
The North London side are just 10 games away from potentially winning their first league title since 2004, and Tavares has not contributed to their success this season. Moreover, As reported by L’Equipe (via talkSPORT), Arteta and his staff had been “frequently irritated by his conduct” and thus sent out the left-back on loan.
The Gunners currently lead the table by 8 points and are certainly favourites to win the Premier League title. They addressed some of the depth issues in January by bringing in Trossard, Jorginho and Kiwior, but Arteta is said to be committed to reinforcing his squad and may seek marquee signings in the upcoming summer transfer window.

However, to do so, the club will need to manage its net spending moving forward. Since Arteta’s arrival, Arsenal have spent more than £300 million, including the latest signings in January. As a result, the club would need to sell a few players to balance their books.
Player Analysis
Nuno Tavares joined Arsenal in 2021 for a transfer fee of £8 million. Although the full-back failed to seal a place in the starting XI at the Emirates Stadium, he has performed exceptionally well in France, helping Marseille secure second place.
The 23-year-old’s remarkable pace is one of his most notable skills, enabling him to make rapid runs up and down the left flank. This speed is also advantageous when defending, as he can quickly track back and shut down opposing wingers by preventing them from launching dangerous attacks.
Furthermore, Tavares possesses excellent ball control and dribbling skills, making him a challenging opponent to defend against. He is comfortable carrying the ball forward, and his dribbling abilities enable him to weave through the defence and create scoring opportunities for himself or his teammates.
