These Are The Three Players That Arsenal Are Ready To Offer For Wilfred Zaha And One Is A Huge Surprise

Arsenal are ready to offer one of three players and cash for Crystal Palace’s Wilfred Zaha, as per the Sun.

The Gunners currently suffer from a lack of quality wingers as Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan don’t seem on par with the required standards and playing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the flanks is an unrealistic long-term plan. A wideman is definitely one of the priorities for Unai Emery in the summer.

It is reported that Zaha is one of Emery’s favourites on the market and sees him fixing up his side’s winger crisis.

However, the Ivorian is valued at around £80 million by Palace, which is not a figure Emery’s side can match. Moreover, the winger insists on making a switch to a Champions League club, so winning the Europa League also seems to be a necessity on top of the financial hurdle to prize the forward.

According to the Sun, the Londoners are ready to offer either Carl Jenkinson, Callum Chambers or Reiss Nelson plus cash in exchange for the Ivorian international.

It is understandable why Jenkinson and Chambers – neither who are first-team players – would be offered in an exchange deal, but letting go of a good prospect like Nelson seems to be a very foolish move if true.

In just 5 starts, the young Englishman netted 7 goals, to become the first ever teenager to score 6 or more goals for Hoffenheim since Roberto Firmino. Meanwhile, Zaha recorded 10 goals whilst starting 34 matches.

To be fair, it really seems to be an awful lot of conditions and trouble to go through to sign someone whose numbers are comparable Iwobi. Nevertheless, it would still be an upgrade of Mkhitaryan. Especially when you consider one of the club’s biggest young talents would be lost.

Additionally, Chambers impressed at Fulham and even had a significant amount of Player of the Year shouts. With his return, Shkodran Mustafi can be kept far away from the pitch as possible or even let go for additional funds.

As of now, signing a player of Zaha’s quality for £80 million or risking the loss of potentially good players does not make sense. Especially when players like David Neres has a release clause of just £35 million.
