Roma sensation Cengiz Under has been getting a lot of attention lately. With the January transfer window looming the Turkish international has been linked with top Premier league sides Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea. Arsenal has been linked with a move for the right winger for the last three months..Earlier it was reported by Tuttomercatoweb that Gunners had made an offer worth 29 million pounds for the Cenzig Under to Roma.
However, the potential fee of the player is considered to be above fifty million pounds which is a bit on the higher side considering that the youngster had become a regular for the Italian club only this season. The rise in fee is partly due to the existence of a sell on clause due to which Roma has to pay 20 percent of any future sale of Cenzig Under to his old club Basaksehir.
In spite of this the Gunners do require the services of a right winger after losing Danny Welbeck – one of their key wide attacking players to an injury suffered in a Europa league match against Sporting CP in the month of November. Further, the inconsistent performances of Armenian Mikhitaryan and Nigerian Alex Iwobi also does not help the case.
Cenzig Under already has already scored two goals and managed four assists in Serie A while putting on a show in the Champions league with three goals and two assists. The Turkish youngster also has a knack of scoring long rangers which will help add a new dimension to the already strong Arsenal attack.
“Some players will complain about training but I’m the opposite,” he said. “I love it. If there is a shooting practice, I like to continue practicing even after the session is over”.
“I have come a long way in a short time. I like to prove people wrong and exceed expectations”, said Under in an interview with the Guardian.
