BREAKING | AS Roma And Ramsey Swap Deal Turns Out To Be A Blown Up Lie

AS Roma, Ramsey swap deal, Ramsey Schick swap deal,

AS Roma have refused of any swap deal between them and Arsenal FC for Aaron Ramsey with Patrick Schick during the winter transfer window in January.

The rumor which had spread like wildfire among Gooners was initially reported by Corriere dello Sport, who claimed that the Welshman would be sent on a free transfer to rope in the €42mn signing, Patrick Schick on loan.

The top brass at AS Roma were quick to debunk any such myths. Director of football at AS Roma, Ramón Rodríguez Verdejo a.k.a. Monchi cleared the air by telling Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzi

“Schick? We have confidence in him, he won’t leave on loan,”

The Gunners are in dire need for a striker to back up Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette since Danny Welbeck broke his ankle during the club’s Europa League fixture against Sporting CP and is feared to miss the action for quite a few months.

Aaron Ramsey, whose fate was sealed when Arsenal announced that the last contract offer to him was withdrawn after he allegedly seeked a rather steep pay rise. The Welshman expressed his disappointment when he told the press that nobody from the club had directly explained their reasons for withdrawing the offer of a new long-term contract after months of frantic talks.

A possible reason could be that he just didn’t fit into Unai Emery’s style of play as an unique asset considering that he had to compete with big-shots like Mesut Ozil, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Aubameyang and Lacazette for a place in the midfield of the Spaniard’s 4-2-3-1 formation.

Gunners would be forced to let the Rambo out for free during next summer if the club doesn’t secure an outgoing deal for the Welshman. The possibility for winter window transfer looks bleak considering Raul Sanlehi’s decision to not actively participate in negotiations in January.

European heavyweights such as Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool, Juventus and AC Milan, have been interested in procuring the midfielder. Ramsey, whose current market value is around €40.5m, would make the Arsenal star, a killer profit considering that he was signed for a mere €5m from Cardiff City way back in 2010 under the guidance of Arsene Wenger.

AC Milan, who recently employed the services of the ex-Arsenal CEO, Ivan Gazidis are considered as the forerunners in the race to sign Ramsey. Gazidis, who personally knows Ramsey from his tenure at the Emirates could use his contacts in the North London club to his advantage, giving AC Milan an edge over other clubs.

Personally, I would be pained to see our loyal Ramsey, a classic product of the Wenger regime to leave the club for free over the disgraceful issue of pay rise. He perhaps could be swapped with Schick of AS Roma or sold to an European giant for a price befitting his stature considering the fact that the cash strapped Arsenal need a striker pronto.
