How Arsenal Responded To Star Players’ Shocking Hippy Crack Scandal

Aubameyang Lacazette Arsenal

Arsenal seemed to be in a fix as a video surfaced on the internet on Friday exposing a couple of the club’s star players inhaling nitrous oxide.

The video features Arsenal stars Pierre Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette, Mesut Özil, Mattéo Guendouzi and Sead Kolašinac inhaling nitrous oxide out of balloons.

The incident took place back in August before the season started, at a champagne and vodka party at the exclusive Tape Club in London’s West end.

Shkodran Mustafi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan were also seen in the video, although they weren’t caught inhaling the gas.

Arsenal were quick to issue a statement in which they said that the players would be given a slap on the wrist and would be “reminded of their responsibilities as representatives of the club.”

Before the season started, Arsenal boss Unai Emery banned even fruit juice in the club’s main training base in London as it contained too much sugar.. People are interested to see what a man of his disciplinary standards will have to say about this, with others wondering why it took so long for the footage to be released.

Nitrous oxide, commonly known as Hippy Crack, is a colourless gas used by dentists as an anaesthetic agent.

Although the Psychoactive Substances Act of 2016 has made it illegal to supply or import nitrous oxide for human consumption, canisters that provide several doses of the gas can be purchased for as little as £2.

This is not the first time high profile footballers have been caught inhaling laughing gas, with Raheem Sterling getting caught in the act twice right before his move to Manchester City from Liverpool back in 2015. Kyle Walker was spotted doing the same in 2013 during a night out in Sheffield.

Both players were given strict warnings by their respective clubs, with Walker having to release an official statement apologising for his actions. The 23 year old wingback stated, “I have now been made aware of the health risks associated with the practice and accept that my actions were that of poor judgement.”

Regardless, the whole situation has been a huge let down as this is not the type of behaviour one would expect from senior footballers in the squad, especially when the club is looking to bounce back with a strong season given the recent changes.

Arsenal are currently sitting in 5th place in the Premier League and are looking strong with a 20 game unbeaten run. They face Huddersfield Town at the Emirates on Saturday and will be looking to secure the win.
