Arsenal Fans Go Crazy as Barcelona Post Massive Transfer Update Amid Reports of Arsenal Deal for Denis Suarez

According to the news reports circulating in England, Arsenal are edging closer to signing Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez. But, the deal is yet to be finalized.

Only twelve days are left for Arsenal to bring in new players before the January transfer window slams shut. Unai Emery is looking to bring in reinforcements due to injuries occuring to Rob Holding and Danny Welbeck.

This is compounded by the fact that Arsenal doesn’t have any transfer funds left to meet the manager’s wishes with Emery himself admitting the fact. However, bringing players on loan seems to be the only viable option in a month which is proving to be a difficult month for buying players due to the huge sums being demanded.

Denis Suarez, the Barcelona midfielder, has been linked with a move to the Emirates in recent weeks. According to Mirror Sport, Arsenal have agreed to take Suarez on a 1.7 million pounds loan deal, before finalizing a 17.5 million pounds deal in the summer.

However, Daily Star has reported that Barcelona are intentionally delaying Suarez’s transfer as they want to sell him at a higher price in the summer. The Catalan club wants the Spanish midfielder to sign a contract till 2020 to protect his market value.

The twenty five year old midfielder is reportedly happy for a move to the Emirates after a series of ongoing talks. The former Sevilla star has been celebrating Arsenal’s last night victory over Chelsea through his Instagram account.

Arsenal fans were equally delighted over their team’s victory and Dennis Suarez’s social media activity and took to Twitter expressing their happiness.

At a press conference after Arsenal’s victory at Stamford Bridge, Emery was asked whether the club had moved any closer to finalizing a deal for Denis Suarez. Emery refrained from naming the player directly but mentioned that Arsenal was working hard on making the transfer happen.

“I know the club is working with different possibilities if (it) can help us for these four months for our competition.”

On being asked whether Suarez could be in the side for the FA Cup clash later this month against United, Emery said he would welcome any reinforcements.

“I know it’s a difficult window for the transfer market and if a player is coming to help us I am happy. But the club is doing that and I am going to wait.”

If Suarez do decides to come to Arsenal, it would give Emery greater options in the midfield where he seems to have no confidence in Mesut Ozil to do the job. So far, Emery has only started Ozil in twelve games this season.

This itself shows a fall down in the player-manager relation. Therefore, it becomes necessary that Arsenal do get this player on a loan deal, otherwise, a top four finish would prove to be strenuous.

Meanwhile as the story unfolds, Barcelona boss Valderde has provided an interesting transfer update saying :

“We are happy with the squad but there are always possibilities for departures for those who maybe do not feature as often.

“Those players could stay here and we would be happy or they could leave in search of more opportunities, we will evaluate all possibilities for them.

“We work internally and there is a lot of planning involved of which I am a part, but we will see how the market progresses.”
