Arsenal hosted local rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday in a game that saw the men in white humbled by the Gunners.

The fixture, that has previously produced many remarkable games, managed to deliver once again. The 6-goal thriller ended in the favour of the hosts.

Unai Emery made 10 changes to the squad that had started against Vorskla in their mid-week Europa League fixture; Rob Holding Being the only player to start both games. Mesut Ozil was left out of the team once again. If rumours are to be believed, his exclusion from the team is a result of his bust-up with the manager.

Stars like Alexandre Lacazette, Toby Alderweirald, and Ozil were missing from the starting line-ups. Nonetheless, the game was eventful and thrilling.

Here are some incredible moments from the game:

1) Eric Dier’s celebration

Arsenal’s high press and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s 10th-minute goal from the spot left Tottenham in an uneasy situation. The Emirates outfit made it apparent to be the better team during the early stages of the game.

Eric Deir’s flicked header at the front post, however, brought Spurs right back into the game, though it seemed to be an off-side goal.

His celebration did not sit well with the home supporters, though.

Derbies are known for feisty moments, and Englishman’s celebration managed to provoke one. The players got involved in an argument with the England international not long after. And the management and referees had to intervene to break up the players and get the game underway gain.

2. Mike Dean’s penalty call

Mike Dean is not a referee to shy away from tough decisions. The 50-year-old referee has awarded 145 penalties in his career as a Premier League referee. The two he awarded in Sunday’s North London Derby.

It is rare to see both the teams concede penalties in a single game, and rarer still to see both being scored.

Both penalties had a heavy impact on the game. One saw Arsenal firmly take the driver seat in the match when Aubameyang scored from the spot in the 10th minute. On the other hand, the other penalty saw Sours complete a comeback and take the lead.

3. Aubameyang’s Second Goal

The Gabon international’s second goal saw him become the current top scorer of the Premier League. His second goal not only took him to double figures for the season but also brought Arsenal back into the game.

The Red and Whites had conceded their early lead and allowed their neighbors to claw back into the game.

The ex-Dortmund striker, however, had other plans. He scored an absolutely brilliant goal, just from the outside of the penalty area and sunk Tottenham’s hopes for a win. The shot in itself was technical perfection and was in the back of the net before Hugo Lloris could even move.

4. Red Card

It is not unusual to expect red cards in a derby.

Jan Vertonghen had a night to forget in his return to the Spurs line up after injury. The 31-year-old Belgium international conceded an early penalty by handling the ball inside the box from an Arsenal corner.

Late in the game, the Spurs defender slid into a tackle on Lacazette which saw Mike Dean produce a second yellow card for the Tottenham man, who had to leave the game at the 85^th minute.

5. Unai Emery’s Management

Emery has taken the Premier League by storm. His side are unbeaten in their last 19 games in all competitions under the Spaniard’s management. With the win against Spurs, Arsenal crept back into the top-4.

Arsenal played beautiful football during the first half but found themselves trailing to a one-goal lead by halftime.

The former PSG boss took immediate action and brought on Aaron Ramsey and Lacazette in as half-time substitutes. His boldness worked to positive effect as Ramsey assisted the equalizer and the Frenchman took the lead soon after.

Players have found form and the Londoners has amassed a succession on wins under their new manager. What Arsenal can achieve under Emery’s guidance still remains to be seen. However, the future certainly looks bright for the men in red.
