Wingers : The Missing Link Between Arsenal And Success

Ousmane Dembele

It has been quite an eventful transfer window for the Gunners – a goalkeeper, defenders and midfielders galore. However, there is still one piece missing from the puzzle for the perfect ‘Arsenal’ team.[spacer height=”30px”]

It is no secret that the North Londoners are in need of a quality winger. One must probably be aware that Alex Iwobi isn’t always a reliable option leaves one other natural winger, Reiss Nelson, who is still under development. Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey are often forced to drift out as wingers, which isn’t their preferred position.[spacer height=”30px”]

Fortunately, there is still time to fill in those gaps as a considerable chunk of the transfer window lies ahead.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]The Emirates outfit lost today’s match on penalties vs Atletico Madrid and not having a wideman turned out to be an obvious issue.[spacer height=”30px”]

Meanwhile, Barcelona starlet Ousmane Dembele has recently been linked with a move to London. The former Borussia Dortmund man netted just 4 goals from 23 matches last season for Barcelona, though injuries may have held him back. The World Cup Champion wasn’t given much first-team minutes in the second half of the season following the arrival of Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]Moreover, the Catalonians recently signed Malcom, who also is a wide forward. Therefore,  Dembele is said to be keen on leaving the club in pursuit of regular, first-team football.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]Coral’s John Hill said:

[spacer height=”30px”]”We have seen a flurry of bets this afternoon for Arsenal to beat off competition from their Premier League rivals for the services of Ousmane Dembele and as a result the Gunners are now the favourites to sign the Frenchman.”[spacer height=”30px”]

Sven Mislintat played a huge role in getting the young winger to Dortmund and can persuade him to join him at Arsenal. The Frenchman will be a perfect addition to the team knowing both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette previously very well, making the front 3 seem almost unstoppable.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]However, reports have come out that the La Liga giants are only willing to loan their €100 million signing, and have no intention of selling him. The English side are said to be interested in a permanent deal, however getting him on a loan would also be beneficial.[spacer height=”30px”]

Wilfrid Zaha is yet another potential target. The Crystal Palace man has huge potential to be a great player, with the blend of impressive speed, quick feet and flashy skills, being a nightmare to defenders. Zaha would already know the toughness of the Premier League and playing with ‘better quality’ players would just improve his game.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]Unai Emery’s side face stiff competition from derby rivals Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur as well. The club may have to break the budget and hence offload some players like Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi to obtain the Palace talisman.[spacer height=”30px”]

On the other hand, it is to be noted that the player that suffers from motivational issues and if he were to be made to fight for the role, the consequences could be questionable.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]Kingsley Coman, 22, is also part of the mix. The Bayern Munich man is quick on the ball, has great dribbling skills and vision. In the youngster’s short career, he has won six league titles with three different clubs – Bayern, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain. Hence, Coman has that champion attitude absorbed in him.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]The Frenchman would connect pretty well with his international teammate Lacazette as well. However the 22-year-old’s finishing has been criticized a lot, scoring just 3 goals for the Bavarians last season, alongside his poor defensive contribution. Recent reports say that the young forward is interested in staying in Munich but with no first team football guaranteed, he could be eyeing an exit.[spacer height=”30px”]

Nevertheless, the Bayern star would not come cheap to the gunners with a 60-70 million pound evaluation. Arsenal would have to sell some players to get him.[spacer height=”30px”]

[spacer height=”30px”]Hence, there are options available in the market. Arsenal just need to respond at the right time with the right offer and we would have the perfect , title challenging , team next season.[spacer height=”30px”]
