All you need to know as the gunners take on the bluebirds on matchday 4.
Arsenal travel to Cardiff for their fourth premier league game today. Arsenal look confident as they registered their first victory in the league against West Ham United. Unai Emery’s squad got off to a rather bad start losing to the defending champions, Man city but played a beautiful high-press system against Chelsea before Alonso’s winner.
Arsenal have played Cardiff 44 times and the gunners have clearly dominated Cardiff with 20 wins and 14 draws. The present too doesn’t look good for the bluebirds as they come into this game drawing 2 and losing 1 in their previous premier league matches. Unai Emery will be looking for a victory and will be hoping to put a good defensive performance.
Cardiff look better defensively than the gunners and will test Arsenal’s shaky defence by putting in long balls in the box. Arsenal haven’t lost to Cardiff in a competitive match since 1961, and the gunners will be expected not to break this record.
Arsenal are placed 13th and Cardiff are placed 16th in the premier league table and will be hoping to avoid relegation after a rather dull transfer window.
This finally might be the game where Emery starts Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette together after bringing on Lacazette as a substitute in the previous matches. The duo possess a great attacking threat along with Mesut Ozil and should be started together as they link up pretty well too.
Best part about todays match is the fact that both Pierre Emerick Aubameyang are starting up front with Mesut Ozil behind them in the number 10 role aided by Aaron Ramsey on the wing.
