The Gunners face a massive task at the Emirates tonight in the Arsenal Vs Rennes clash as they attempt to overturn a 3-1 loss in the Europa league.
Unai Emery, who has plenty of experience in the Europa league, will go on the attack to win the Arsenal Vs Rennes match and I’m not expecting the side to be significantly different from the one that faced Manchester United.
A back three, in my book, would probably put Kolasinac and Maitland Niles just forward of the defensive line, linking up with the defensive umbrella formed by Xhaka and Torreira and a three man midfield.
Emery always offers a surprise in his selection and one can’t rule out something similar in Arsenal’s key match of the season. Lacazette has returned from suspension and is likely to lead the line and one can’t rule out the return of Lichtsteiner in place of Maitland Niles, but I feel the youngster deserves his place.
Arsenal need to win 2-0 without reply, which should be possible with the crowd behind them as with a home advantage. You can expect a testing 20 minutes or so, because Rennes can afford to sit back and rely on counter attacks.
However, should Arsenal get the opening goal, things could change very quickly with the noise from the Emirates crowd.
The North London club need to go in at half time, one or two goals to the good, which may open up the game nicely but they will have to keep an eye on Sarr, who looks the biggest threat.
The gunners should be too strong at home for Rennes.
I predict a 4-0 win in favour of the Gunners in the Arsenal Vs Rennes game.
