Arsenal took a step closer to the much coveted Champions League spot after the Gunners beat Machester United at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday. The Arsenal Vs United match ended with a 2-0 scoreline in favour of the Gunners.

The battle for the third and fourth place is at its peak with Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea all gunning for a place next season in Europe’s most elite competition.

Sunday’s victory over rivals Manchester United took the men in red and white 2 points clear of the Red Devils and just one point off third-placed Tottenham Hotspurs.

As we reach the business end of the season, every game is a must-win game and the Gunners, with their work rate against United, proved that they are serious about things.

Arsenal dominated the midfield during the first half of the Arsenal Vs United game, and a big part of that performance was the soon to be departing midfielder, Aaron Ramsey.

Speaking after the Arsenal Vs United game, the 28-year-old said:

“I think to a man we left everything out on the pitch and we worked our socks off”.

“We created a few opportunities in the first half hour of the game and I thought we controlled the game very well.”

“We know that we’re strong at home and we’re on a good run, so hopefully that can continue.”

Ramsey, who found himself in a slightly deeper and more defensive role than usual, left everything on the pitch. The Wales international cited the fact that it was his last game against Manchester United in an Arsenal shirt as a source of motivation.

The Welshman said:

“I knew that before the game so I really wanted to go out there today and put in a big performance and help my teammates as much as possible”.

“We managed to do that and it’s probably my last game against them in an Arsenal shirt, so I’m just glad we won and we’ve put ourselves in a great position to finish the season strongly and get into the top four.”

“We know that no game is easy in the Premier League so we’re going to have to be at it every single time.”

“We’ve got to keep going, keep believing and we’ll see where we finish at the end of the season.”

In a season of many ups and downs, Aaron Ramsey has been one of Arsenal’s most consistent and diligent players.

As the end of the season approaches, so does his inevitable move to Juventus. Arsenal will surely miss his work rate and quality in the middle of the park next season onwards and must quickly find a replacement for the midfielder.
