Three Incredible Things That Arsenal vs West Ham Has Taught Us

West Ham, Arsedevils

Arsenal locked horns with West Ham last Saturday and were successful at winning their first official game of the Premier League, with the new manager Unai Emery holding the reins. Final Score 3-1.

The Pellegrini-led West Ham side had witnessed a lot of chances but were unable to convert these chances, which should be credited to Arsenal’s veteran goalkeeper Petr Cech, who saw plenty of the ball during the game.

The first goal by Arnautovic was a splendid, sweet strike into the bottom left corner of the net. Hence, the former Lazio player Felipe Anderson should be commended for setting it up beautifully for his teammate, at 5 minutes shy of half an hour. 1-0 to West Ham.
5 minutes later, Monreal seized the ball as it reflected back from Fabianski’s gloves as he tried to evade a tempting cross by Bellerin, at which the left legged defender slammed it straight towards the centre of the net.

At the 70th minute, Lacazette controlled a bouncing ball by physically manning it and hit in a cross from a very tight angle. Due to which, Diop had no chance to clear as he watched the ball rebound off his leg and roll back into his own net.

Another cross by Bellerin at the dying minutes of the game, at which Welbeck patiently aware of his surroundings, pivoted with one leg, to witness his team seal their first win under their new gaffer making it 3-1 against West Ham.

Three Things Learned From The Game Against West Ham :

Torreira Settling In

The new hyped-up young defensive midfielder who featured in the Uruguayan team at the World Cup and who single-handedly took on Cristiano Ronaldo during the World Cup, has made a statement where he said that the win against West Ham was essential as it is enabling him to adapt to the weather conditions of North London.

This could mean he could be a potential contender for that position at Arsenal, since the fans want him to see him more on the field rather on the bench .

Ramsey – key factor?

Aaron Ramsey has taken the charge to lead the team in its new season. His experience is vital to the team whether on pressure or on decision making matters. During the West Ham game, he could have scored a header when it rebounded off Fabianski, but the line referee was right to rule it offside.

Another chance popped up when he smashed a volley from nearly 25 yards out, at which Fabianski managed to just get a hand to it ; away from the bottom left corner, with his fingers doing the effort.

Bellerin – Improved Under Unai?

Bellerin has transformed himself since last season. Not only has he been using his pace as strength to gain the ball at the right flanks, but also his delivery of sumptuous crosses into the box makes him a valuable defender and it was viably seen against West Ham.

This could ensure his guaranteed spot in the starting XI in the matches to come if he keeps performing as he did the night before vs West Ham.
